I recently had the privilege of participating in the "Cyborg: Getting Started with Cybersecurity" event, organized by the amazing team at Team Nexus Next. It was an incredible opportunity to dive deeper into the world of cybersecurity, learn about the latest trends, and gain practical insights to strengthen my skills in this rapidly evolving field. As technology continues to advance at an unprecedented pace, the need for strong cybersecurity measures has become more crucial than ever. Cyber attacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated and can have devastating consequences for individuals, businesses, and even entire nations. That's why events like Cyborg are so important - they equip us with the knowledge and tools to protect ourselves and our organizations from these threats. The event was packed with informative sessions, interactive workshops, and engaging discussions led by industry experts. I was blown away by the depth of knowledge and experience shared by the speakers, and I left with a newfound appreciation for the complexity of cybersecurity and the importance of staying ahead of the game. One of the key takeaways for me was the emphasis on continuous learning in the field of cybersecurity. With new threats emerging every day, it's crucial to constantly update our skills and knowledge to stay ahead of the curve. The Cyborg event provided me with valuable insights and resources to continue my learning journey and stay on top of the latest trends and techniques. I also had the opportunity to network with other professionals in the cybersecurity field, and it was inspiring to see the passion and dedication they have for protecting our digital world. I believe that events like Cyborg not only provide us with valuable knowledge and skills, but also foster a sense of community and collaboration among cybersecurity professionals. I am grateful to Team Nexus Next for organizing such a fantastic event and for their commitment to empowering individuals and organizations in the field of cybersecurity. Back at the airport less than 14 hours after arriving home and headed to The Channel Company #Xchange conference in San Antonio starting tomorrow. This makes three conferences in as many weeks -- CompTIA ChannelCon, CyberFOX SecureIT Summit, and now The Channel Company Xchange --  all while taking virtual interviews to fill two open positions within the firm, keeping existing projects moving along, and closing two new clients in the tiny whitespaces in between. So why do I do it? 🤷♂️ 🚫 It’s not primarily for the conference keynotes or sessions – many are excellent. 🚫 It’s not to meet new vendors – we’ve met some great new ones – shout out to Atakama, for one example. For me, the singular most valuable thing about these channel conferences is meeting, connecting with, and learning from my fellow MSPs and cybersecurity practitioners. If you attend a conference and don’t force yourself to strike up conversations with peers, you are leaving a TON of value on the table.
