Acne Before Periods🍀 Acne is a common skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. It often causes whiteheads, blackheads, or pimples, and it can appear on the face, forehead, chest, upper back, and shoulders. How is Acne Formed? 👉Excess oil production 👉Hair follicles clogged by oil and dead skin cells 👉Bacteria 👉Inflammation Is It Normal to Get Acne Before Periods? Yes, it is quite normal to get acne before periods. This is known as premenstrual acne and is caused by hormonal fluctuations in the body. As your period approaches, the levels of estrogen decrease, and progesterone increases, which can lead to an increase in oil production. This excess oil can clog pores and result in acne. Acne Before Periods in Ayurveda: In Ayurveda, acne is often linked to an imbalance in the Pitta dosha, which governs heat and metabolism in the body. Premenstrual acne can be seen as an exacerbation of this imbalance. Ayurvedic Treatment: ☘️Diet: Incorporate cooling foods like guards, melons, raisins, milk to balance Pitta. Avoid spicy, oily, and fried foods. ☘️Herbs: Neem, turmeric, and aloe vera can be used for their anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. ☘️Hydration: Drink plenty of water to keep the skin hydrated and flush out toxins. ☘️Topical Treatments: Apply a paste made of sandalwood and rose water to the affected areas. This helps cool the skin and reduce inflammation. ☘️Lifestyle: Practice stress-relieving activities like yoga and meditation, as stress can also exacerbate acne. Conclusion: While premenstrual acne is common, it can be managed effectively with Ayurvedic practices that balance your body’s doshas. If you’re struggling with severe or persistent acne, consider consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized advice and treatment. #dhatriayurveda #acne #acnetreatment #ayurveda #acneproblems #periods #acneayurvedictreatment #pimples

Why Skin? I get asked this question a lot. Do you work with skin only? My answer is always no, as skin health is a reflection of our internal issues. As an Ayurvedic practitioner, my training and practice enables me to perceive beyond the surface manifestations of health issues and gain insights into the deeper underlying imbalances within the body. Ayurveda emphasizes a holistic approach to health, considering not only the physical symptoms but also the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of well-being. Ayurveda helps me to take a comprehensive approach to understand the body and its internal functions. Rather than merely treating symptoms, Ayurvedic methodologies aim to address the root cause of imbalances within the body to promote holistic health and well-being. I am passionate about skin and skin research. Skin is the largest organ of the human body, serving as a protective barrier between the internal organs and the external environment. Skin performs several vital functions, including regulating body temperature, protecting against pathogens and harmful UV radiation, sensation, and excreting waste through sweat. Both modern medicine and traditional systems like Ayurveda recognize that skin often reflects internal health conditions. Various internal disorders or imbalances do manifest on the skin in different ways. Here are a few examples: *Nutritional deficiencies: Inadequate intake of essential nutrients like vitamins and minerals can lead to skin problems such as dryness, flakiness, or even conditions like dermatitis. *Hormonal imbalances: Fluctuations in hormone levels, such as during puberty, pregnancy, or menopause, can affect the skin. Hormonal acne, for example, is often linked to changes in androgen levels. *Digestive issues: Ayurveda and many other traditional medical systems emphasize the connection between gut health and skin health. *Autoimmune diseases: Conditions like psoriasis or lupus are autoimmune disorders where the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues, including the skin. *Liver and kidney problems *Stress and emotional health: Emotional stress can exacerbate various skin conditions, including acne, eczema, and psoriasis. *Allergies and sensitivities.
