Solid advice here. Rotational programs can be great options to consider, and I have said the same thing to students about tailoring their resume. It's not just a "career advisor thing to say". You can keep shooting your shot by applying to opportunities with a non-tailored resume, but you need to ask yourself... is your resume truly highlighting the key words in the job description you are applying to and is your approach working? Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Here's 2 mistakes I made on my post grad job hunt and my advice for new/recent graduates to help them avoid them: (part 2 of what I'd do to increase my chances of finding an entry level role post grad: https://lnkd.in/g5jJY2VP) 1. Not applying to rotational programs I WISH I knew about new grad rotational programs when I was on my search. They're a great way to 1) ease into corporate world, 2) helpful if you don't have much professional experience, and 3) give you exposure to different departments in an industry you're interested. ⭐ Here's my content about rotational programs with 50+ programs to check out: https://lnkd.in/eRNxj9Eh https://lnkd.in/dcTZpGzf https://lnkd.in/gWx4kkHf 2. Mass applying to roles with the same resume I thought having 1 resume with all of my experiences was enough but I realized that my past resumes weren't clear and specific enough about the role(s) I was interested in. I know you're probably tired of hearing this but you need to tailor your resume to the roles/industry you're applying for. If you're interested in roles across different industries, create different resumes for that industry. For example, I have: - a Marketing/Sales resume that lists all of my past marketing and sales roles - a University Recruiting resume that lists all of my past relevant uni recruiting experience - a general resume with all of my experiences ⭐ Here's content i have about creating a standout resume: https://lnkd.in/ghu4eZgi https://lnkd.in/gZ4gcnvx ⭐ Additional Resources: - Here's a helpful guide to help you on your job hunt: https://lnkd.in/girxUSaY - Tomorrow, I'm hosting a panel on WayUp with a group of talented early career folks sharing how to find an entry level post graduation!
