DO NOT READ this if you don’t sell or intend to. Selling is the easiest way to becoming rich. If you sell often and talk about money as you should, you will sense that people are judging you for greed. I once asked someone why he was uncomfortable with a salesperson, and he said that salespeople were too focused on making money. He thinks people who sell work less hard for what they get. I understand why this is a put-off. People who hold this sentiment are usually in careers where they spend much time solving complex problems, sometimes for years before they make a headway. For instance, the Guardian published an article in 2017 that mentioned a professor at Arizona University who had spent 30 years studying dogs. The professor aimed to invent a speech recognition system that translates pet sounds to humans. That is beautiful but tough research, right? So imagine how such a person might think of a salesperson who flips a building in two months and makes a profit of $250,000. But there is an error in that sort of thinking: Work IS NOT EQUAL to time spent working. Work IS NOT EQUAL to effort expended. 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐈𝐒 𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐋 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞. The salesperson who flipped a home in two months and generated a $250,000 profit provides a value of generational significance to a family that can't wait to settle in their dream home. This is why you should not fear being judged as a salesperson. To fear being judged is to give yourself to the assessment of people who question the value you offer when you address current, pressing issues of demand, which, in turn, provide relief to people. I hope you will now sell with confidence. ______________________ Was this post valuable? Follow me for more @ Don Kings Enaboakpe

Thank you for this post. It inspires me to remember why I do my work as a coach. Selling isn’t something to fear but to embrace because it allows me to provide value to those who truly want it. When I offer my services, I’m not just making a sale—I’m helping clients achieve something meaningful in their lives. Selling is just another way of serving my clients, and that’s a win for both of us.

Exactly! You know I love the example. The flipper created a home for the buyers but also by purchasing the building he solved a problem for the seller, that others don't know how to solve and created jobs for many people in the process. And... he likely didn't really make $250,000 in the process. It just looks that way.
