Trust is everything.

Just read an insightful article by Jack Zenger and Joseph Folkman on the three elements of trust in leadership: Positive Relationships, Good Judgement/Expertise, and Consistency. These elements are indeed fundamental to building trust. However, I believe there's another critical aspect to consider in today's world. Many people, including leaders, consultants and employees tend to oversell themselves, presenting experience and skills they don't actually possess. While it's okay to market oneself, the extent to which some individuals inflate their abilities is shocking. There's a difference between having a healthy ego (if such a thing exists) and outright lying about what you can do. 🤨 As professionals, it's important to manage expectations honestly and transparently. Presenting our authentic selves, including acknowledging our weaknesses, can create even greater trust. Transparency about our strengths and areas for improvement fosters deeper connections and more genuine trust. 💡🤝 What are your thoughts on this?
