The DoD Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office announced today a new approach to scaling data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities called Open DAGIR. Open DAGIR is a multi-vendor ecosystem with supporting business models that enables industry and government to integrate data platforms, development tools, services, and applications in a way that preserves government data ownership and industry intellectual property. The Department must invest in its data infrastructure in a scalable and enduring way. This has a strikingly similar vision as the PPBE Reform Commission recommendation for a Common Platform. The vision is to democratize data and commercial solutions for enterprise access, thus for war fighting functions and the common platform focused on business process and decision making 👏🏽
