https://lnkd.in/eMY7TbTd The auto industry spent the last 2 decades fighting hard against improved vehicle emissions standards, and hyping less efficient SUVs to such an extent that they actually increased their overall emissions, more than negating the impacts of EV sales. Now they are whining about how HARD it is for them to make the switch to EVs, despite the structural decline of ICEs. Maybe if you stopped hyping "mild hybrids" (aka ICE car with nauseatingly thick layer of greenwash) complaining about charging points, and other anti-EV tropes, and got on with REALLY selling EVs, you'd (for once) do it right by the consumer, the environment and your shareholders.

As an electric vehicle owner, I often see negative press about EVs. It's frustrating because not only are they better for the planet, but my EV9 is hands down the best car my family has ever owned - and we've been lifelong VW owners. Living in North America, where long road trips are a tradition, I'm thrilled to see a new study confirming that EVs emit up to 70% fewer emissions. Check out the study here: https://lnkd.in/g2ucmBRu #EVs #sustainability #environmentallyfriendly

Too complicated Too expensive
Hybrid battery for 31000€ and 1.7kWh? Is hybrid new dieselgate2? Range Rover battery pack wins Guinness World Record, it costs “more than complete” car and it is primary reason why people hate electrification and why EV sales are declining, because Hybrids are tied to EV narrative where bad experience is “returning owners to pure ICE cars”. I am not sure are we only on planet earth who sees connection and primary reason of EV Xenophobia. Having 2 complicated systems is just too expensive to service and it is not sustainable.

Hybrid Vehicles are really complex systems. New vehicle requirements drastically increase design and production costs and these costs are double in HV. Moreover HV cannot work as bifuel vehicle, so also the reliability of bifuel vehicle is not proper of HV. HV represented a transitory solution in near past. It is time to move on pure EV!🚙⚡️

Are ICE-EV hybrids giving EVs a bad name? Increased maintenance costs over ICE petrol vehicles are removing the fuel savings and replacement batteries can be very expensive and less reliable. While I was on the ACT climate change council we recommended (and I still recommend) waiting and not buying a hybrid car and waiting until you can buy a fully electric car. Something to be mindful of in the transition. There are good ones and bad ones, the Range Rover below is a very bad one and hugely expensive. What do you think? Are hybrids a bad idea or a great way to get used to electric vehicles and plug in hybrids a good staging post and fill in market gaps? #evs #hybrid #energytransition

The road to an all-electric future is edging closer, by 2035 all new cars sold in the UK must be either hybrid or an all-electric vehicle to support a more sustainable future. However, range anxiety is still a very real thing, which is why we have put together a handy guide to put your mind at ease. So, what does this mean for VMT reduction? "In China and the Netherlands, the trend is particularly strong, with battery-electric vehicles traveling 66% and 56% more than ICE vehicles, respectively... "However, the most likely motivating factor in EVs traveling further each year is that, on a per-kilometer or per-mile basis, EVs are cheaper to power. This offers the most active drivers the largest incentive to go electric, as they save the most money." https://lnkd.in/dyNRQqua

The EV car market in the UK - A Quick Snapshot The market share for new cars registered with a plug (as an indicator of EV status) in the UK was 23.9% (as of February 2024), with over 1,000,000 electric cars on UK roads and also 620,000 plug-in hybrids. These figures represents a steady increase from previous years, highlighting the growing appeal and acceptance of EV technology among British motorists. Hybrid vehicles, which combine conventional internal combustion engines with electric propulsion, make up a substantial portion of this electrified landscape. Hybrids have a role as a transitional technology for drivers hesitant to make a full switch to BEVs. The integration and improvement in charging infrastructure throughout urban and rural areas has helped bolstered confidence among potential buyers though, admittedly, there is still a way to go on that front. It's no longer just about having choices but also about convenience and accessibility when it comes to charging options. As environmental concerns take centre stage in consumer decision-making, the spread of EVs into the traditional car market will continue to climb rapidly over the coming years and with them, improvements in air quality and reductions in carbon emissions across the nation. #ElectricVehicles #EVMarket #SustainableTransport #GreenTechnology #CleanEnergy #HybridVehicles #ChargingInfrastructure #UKCarMarket #EVGrowth #EcoFriendly #CarbonReduction #FullCircleCI #FutureOfTransport #ElectricCars
