New IRDAI regulations specify on removal of entry age for health insurance and coverage for pre existing ailments but #buyer beware #t&c applies. The insurer will be determining the premium, which surely would be sky high and may be unaffordable for most. Also the insurer as was the case earlier can always withdraw a policy and the new policy may have significantly higher premiums plus alterations in terms and conditions for claims Always to remember what's paramount for an insurer is it's share holders interest/ dividends to be maximized,it's not a public welfare scheme. Unless, some new policies come in which in reality help the customer..what actually changed? Maybe,just the waiting period and the moratorium period

🚨 Rhode Island to Expand TCI Benefits!!! Rhode Island’s Governor recently signed into law a bill expanding the state’s Temporary Caregiver Insurance (TCI) benefits! Currently, eligible employees can take 6 weeks of leave under TCI to care for a newborn, or newly adopted child, or to care for a family member with a serious health condition. Benefits are set to increase on the following dates: ✔️ 1.1.25: TCI Benefits increase to a max of 7 weeks. ✔️ 1.1.26: TCI Benefits increase to a max of 8 weeks. While money back is always useful for employer plan-sponsors, there are rules governing what employers are able to do with these amounts. This alert distinguishes between different types of premium refunds and discounts applicable to fully insured health and welfare plans and addresses what employers can do with these amounts. We will also briefly discuss how the rules differ for refunds and discounts related to self-insured group health plans.   This alert is relevant for all employers sponsoring group health plans, but it is most relevant for employers with fully insured medical plans.
