Getting laid off changed my life for better in finding myself first. It helped me find my own why and thoughts. Before graduating college, I had a marketing sales role lined up until I get an email days after graduation: “We have decided to terminate this role in pursuit of another direction.” It left me to go from celebrating being the first to graduate with a job in my family to be able to afford moving out of my parents basement. To feeling defeated in receiving constant interview round rejections knowing that I was making zero progress towards fulfilling my parents’ definition of success. Yet getting laid off was the step I needed to go through to build and grow for myself first It taught me a lot on how to: 🏆Not to be afraid to ask for help. 🏆Advocate for me before anyone else. 🏆Openly share insights to a conversation 🏆Build and articulate my transferable skills 🏆Invest in saying no to constant hustle But the most pivotal lesson I’ve learned is: 🏆Focus on MY why first and then move forward intentionally on bringing alive my own definition of success versus others’ success🏆 From this mindset, I was able to make many moves from sharing my story on global media outlets to collaborating with a few universities on hosting talks for thought leadership that all happened here: From me working hard in my parents basement. Excited to step into my new chapter of independence for me.

I can't believe this happened!  We almost gave up... It was 2020 Me and my partner Mihir lived in a tiny appartment We had just left our stable jobs. And didn't have any plans for what we would do next. I can't tell how scared & clueless we were! Still, we kept taking baby steps because we had to figure out. Finally, in 2021 We started our company "Career Alchemy" and soon we got our first client. We thought everything fell back to track from there, But we were wrong! For the next few months we faced, - Sleepless nights - Tears of uncertainty - Extreme fear of failure  - Hours of brainstorming sessions Sometimes, giving up seemed like the only option left. But glad we didn't because what happened next was beyond our imagination... Today, we went from: (I'm astonished to say this): - Just the two of us to an incredible team of five - 16,000 to 4,00,000 INR/ Month  - 10 clients to 250+ clients  - Served in 23+ countries And the most special thing? We moved into our new apartment - It's built on our dreams, hard work, and persistence. So, if you are thinking of giving up today Because you're getting rejected OR Not getting that deserved job promotion, Stay on it. You never know what your efforts and hard work will bring you tomorrow. ✨

Laid off? What’s next? Welcome to the discomfort of new opportunities. Even though being laid off might not seem like the greatest thing that has happened to you. It just might be. 🤷♀️ How many times in the last years have you thought about making a change and doing something that you really love? 🤔 This is your time to really find out. ⌛ And here are the questions to ask yourself: What did I love about my job? 💌 What do I want to do more of? 🧗♀️ What is an absolute no go for me? 🚫 What is my absolute wildest dream job? ⚡ What would make me feel inspired every day? 🔆 Which new skill do I want to learn? 🗒 You are not starting from scratch. Look at everything you have achieved already and use that as your foundation to become more. You are not too old. You are not too female. You are not too anything to do what you love and become excellent at it.

My client was in full panic mode when she came to me. Recently laid off, she hadn’t: - Updated her resume in 3 years - Grown her network on LinkedIn - Interviewed since graduating college She was terrified at the thought of being out of work for months. But rather than rush into her job search and approach it from a place of fear… We took a step back. We slowed things down by starting with the big picture. I asked her what she wanted from her career: → What was her ideal role? → What skills did she want to learn next? → What type of work environment was she looking for? The more we talked, the more we realized: She hadn’t been fulfilled by her last role. So moving forward in her job search, I showed her how to: -Properly vet job descriptions based on her priorities -Ask questions in interviews to ensure the role would be a good fit for her -Scope out different industries she was interested in to cast a wider net Then we adjusted her resume to align with her new priorities and goals. She started applying for roles… And within 90 days, she landed a job as an Associate Customer Success Manager! She was finally on a career track she was excited about. Three years later, she’s progressed to Senior Customer Success Manager… And she’s been able to diversify her experience by working in a new industry. So if you’ve been laid off recently… Don’t panic. A fulfilling career is out there for you. 🌊

Three years ago, on this day, I was offered several positions by the company I am working with now. I failed to grab the opportunity for 2 different roles, and it made me feel like maybe it wasn't meant to be. And then I was offered another role by the same company but this time I hesitated to take another chance. I already failed twice, got rejected twice, Do I really have to push it? Then I recall something I saw on social media posts, "Failures are opportunities to do better, and be better.". I grabbed the third chance and things felt right when I finally got the job! Three years and I am still here! Who would have thought I'd last for more than a year?! But truly, no regrets! It was all worth it. In the span of three years, I was able to meet a lot of great people whom I learned a lot every single day, I was able to see myself gain confidence and excellence, I experienced growth in several levels of satisfaction and I met my team, my wonders, my family. So yeah, I am really glad I pushed myself to keep trying and embrace failures and rejections. I realized that sometimes, a "No" is not always a "NO", that sometimes, a "No" leads to the right way of getting a "YES". Great message! We all have times when things don’t go the way we hoped! like joining the wrong company or missing a promotion. But staying stuck in regret only makes things harder. Instead, let’s focus on moving forward. Each day is a new chance to make better choices and build a stronger future. A good solution is to set small goals for yourself. Try new things, learn new skills, or look for roles that excite you. Surround yourself with people who support your growth.
