Nothing worse than having your resume automatically rejected by a computer. You spend hours and hours working on it just to get some generic rejection email. Traditional applicant tracking systems (ATS) have been a huge challenge for job seekers for years now. The problem is that highly qualified candidates who don't use the keywords recruiters set are being filtered out. That means recruiters might not ever see your actual resume. And right now there’s a ton of people looking for work. But companies have fewer recruiting resources because of job cuts. Which is why adding those keywords into your resume is so crucial. Rezi just launched a new experimental feature called “Hack Mode” which allows you to take a job description and embed it into your resume in invisible white font. They're unsure how well it works, but decided to offer the feature to test the hack anyway. Now that many recruiters aren’t able to review every application, they rely more on the ATS to help them make a quicker decision. In addition to adding in this white font, make sure to spend a few minutes tweaking your resume and include: ✅ experiences ✅ a clean layout ✅ hard & soft skills ✅ quantifiable results ✅ use of the xyz formula This amazing resume below is for a Business Analyst job paying $133k/year and was made using Rezi. I hope this example helps you land your dream job soon! I LOVE USING REZI. However, having said that, it's already widely known that "white-fonting" doesn't work and is discouraged by lots of folks in the industry and can even have a detrimental effect when the text will be read and could be inserted into the wrong section of your resume by the processing systems. Tiktok "hacks" should be taken with a grain of salt and shouldn't be added to a great product like Rezi, when it could have potentially negative results and has already been debunked too well.
Dominick Namis But, here’s the issue job seekers such as myself run in to. While this resume may be perfectly ATS-optimized and pass that hurdle (understanding 90% of resumes don’t), this resume has zero visual appeal and likely won’t catch the eye of a hiring manager, etc. Difficult to do both with 1 resume, especially for those of us with an extensive background
How many pages should a resume be? Because going off of the clean layout if I don’t want mine to look to crammed what is the recommended amount?
Is it normal to put your salary expectations on your resume? Is that a normalized resume practice used today? I am seeing that for the first time.
So how do you know what "key words" are being used by the Recruiters? Is it a lucky guess or rolling the dice? 🤔
I have a crazy question. Do you think it matters if you attach a word doc resume vs. a PDF version? Does one perform better than others or no? Does it even consider the format in those resume tracking systems?
