I wonder, how quickly people change their perceptions or being brainwashed. I recall (that too 5-6 years back) Airtal, Vodafone, Idea used to loot; they used to charge 250-350 per month for 2 gb data for entire month not per day, calls & SMSs were charged and not free like now. If I simply multiply that rate with 3 it would come as 750-1050, which is now a revised tariff from Jio. Moreover, I recall internet speed (then) was pathetic, I (personally) used to refrain from downloading any media files from (even) whatsapp as it would consume the data. If Jio would not have been there, we would have struggled and been looted like hell during covid time to enable ourselves working from home with Pre-Jio tariffs. I really wonder if UPI or Internet banking for which India is being applauded would have been possible without Jio entering the sector. Ofcourse, a new competitor would bring healthy competition and would put end user on front foot. But let's not demean what Jio had done, and really disrupted the market prices, plans, and overall ecosystem.
