One weird side project I pitched early on at Stripe when I felt it would be huge: act like an archivist and publish a yearly almanac for future employees to learn from. But too much actual work got in the way, like deadlines, hiring, blah blah. Now I wish I just did it anyway somehow. If you're working somewhere innovative that you're convinced will hit major scale, please document the early lore, messy failures, and unexpected wins. I'd love to read the book someday.
