I recently spoke to a multi-country Shopify/Shopify Plus merchant who expressed frustration with Shopify's fulfillment limitations. They expressed a viewpoint that I've heard before many times before: Shopify POS simulates a retail operation, but it bears serious restrictions. Shopify is missing accurate, real-time inventory tracking functionality for retailers operating across multiple countries. Without inventory accuracy, the Shopify order fulfillment process becomes time-consuming and often riddled with inaccuracies. This simply doesn't cut it for retailers who rely on a lightning-fast delivery to stay competitive in the market. HotWax Commerce's custom applications integrate directly with Shopify to give Shopify merchants the best return on inventory possible. You shouldn't be held back by the limitations of Shopify's apps Instead, design an omnichannel strategy that meets your unique needs with HotWax Commerce today. #ShoppingandtheRetailIndustry #Ecommerce #Retail #OmnichannelRetail

There are several apps in the Shopify ecosystem that allow retailers to offer pre-orders to their customers. These apps are adequate for very small brands with few products, but fall short for retailers with a large assortment of pre-order products. When using Shopify for pre-orders, merchants miss out on: 1. Automated listing and delisting of pre-order products 2. Setting accurate customer expectations 3. Streamlined pre-order product allocation 4. Automatic fulfillment of pre-orders In order to successfully launch pre-orders on Shopify, you need to be able to automatically list products for pre-order when inventory is available, efficiently process pre-orders on a first-in, first-out basis, and deliver an excellent customer experience with accurate shipping dates. HotWax Commerce’s Order Management System for Shopify has all of these critical capabilities to ensure your pre-order operation runs smoothly and serves your customers well. #ShoppingandtheRetailIndustry #Ecommerce #Retail #OmniChannel

Exciting new update from HotWax Commerce! We’ve enhanced inventory syncing for retailers on Shopify to maintain real-time accuracy and prevent overselling. Previously, inventory was reset on Shopify every 15 minutes, which sometimes caused issues if products sold quickly and order data wasn’t yet downloaded in HotWax Commerce. Now, our updated sync job pushes only inventory variances, ensuring precise adjustments instead of blanket resets. For example, if a product has a recorded loss or transfer, only that variance will update on Shopify, helping reflect accurate "Available to Promise" levels across all locations. Experience greater inventory accuracy and prevent stock issues with HotWax Commerce’s latest sync feature: https://hubs.la/Q02YvxgC0 #ShoppingandtheRetailIndustry #Ecommerce #Retail #OmniChannel

Handling backorders on Shopify/Shopify Plus is no cakewalk. The only way to do it using Shopify's native capabilities is by enabling "continue selling when out of stock". But doing so doesn't change anything on the Product Detail Page. Customers have no idea if they're placing a backorder or regular order, leading to frustration and order cancellations. To make matters worse, Shopify doesn't display an ETA on the Product Detail Page either. As we all know, backorders we likely to take longer than 3-5 days (standard delivery timeline) to arrive. Customers that were expecting a speedy delivery will undoubtedly be dissapointed, forced to wait for unknown period of time or simply cancel their order and shop elsewhere. At HotWax Commerce, we included a pre-order management app on our omnichannel OMS to replace the ‘add to cart’ button with a ‘backorder’ button on the PDP and steamline the ordering experience. We also enable retailers to calculate ETAs to give customers an immediate, realistic delivery expectation. Our system will automatically notify the customer of any delays. It's all about setting the right expectations. In so doing, retailers drastically reduce the number of bad customer experiences, abandonments, and cancellations. #ShoppingandtheRetailIndustry #Ecommerce #Retail #OmniChannel

How can Shopify merchants control the number of online orders fulfilled by a store? During peak seasons, stores often experience a significant influx of foot traffic, which can pose challenges for staff members trying to manage both in-store customers and online order fulfillment. To address this issue and distribute the workload more evenly across a network of fulfillment centers, Shopify merchants have the option to set a limit on the number of online orders sent to each store for fulfillment. By implementing a "maximum order limit," Shopify merchants determine how many orders they can efficiently fulfill on any given day or during specific periods of the year. This approach takes into account factors such as seasonality and in-store traffic, ensuring that store associates are not overwhelmed with orders they are unable to fulfill due to their engagement with walk-in customers. With the HotWax Commerce Order Management System, Shopify merchants can easily set the "max order limit" for their stores. This system ensures that each store receives a manageable number of orders, allowing for efficient and effective fulfillment processes. #ShoppingandtheRetailIndustry #eCommerce #Retail #Omnichannel #OrderManagementSystem

Why are enterprise retailers not able to use Shopify/Shopify Plus successfully? It comes down to sophistication and complexity. Shopify merchants aren't able to synchronize inventory across physical locations and digital interfaces. The Shopify POS only helps track the inventory that is sold in stores. It does not offer tools to receive, cycle count, transfer and record variance (lost, damage) of inventory within the store. With this in mind, HotWax Commerce launched solutions specifically designed for Shopify merchants that helps them in managing store inventory. Our applications handle all of the processes mentioned above, covering the entire spectrum of store operations and fulfillment. #ShoppingandtheRetailIndustry #Ecommerce #Retail #OmniChannel

Wondering how you can reduce the rate of returns and make your business more efficient? Let's face it, returns are a part of any business. However, when Shopify retailers are in the dark about why returns are happening, it becomes challenging to take proactive steps to minimize them. The Solution? HotWax Commerce's Buy Online Return In-Store solution lets Shopify retailers specify the type of return for each item, whether it's a refund, exchange, or store credit, along with the relevant reason for the return. These return reasons can encompass various factors such as product defects, incorrect size or color, changes of mind, and more. By selecting the appropriate reason, retailers gain insight into why customers are returning items, allowing them to track common issues and pinpoint areas where product improvements are needed. This data-driven approach not only deepens retailers' understanding of return reasons but also equips them to address the root causes effectively, ultimately leading to a reduction in the frequency of returns. Curious to learn more about how you can leverage data to enhance your business?
