🎄 December often marks the start of the festive wind-down, but it’s also a time to recognise some key dates that highlight important causes. Here’s what’s coming up: 🌍 World AIDS Day (Dec 1) A day to raise awareness about HIV, support those living with it, and remember those we’ve lost. ✊ International Day for the Abolition of Slavery (Dec 2) Shining a light on the fight against modern slavery and human trafficking. ♿ International Day of Persons with Disabilities (Dec 3) Focusing on accessibility, inclusion, and equality for people with disabilities. 📜 International Human Rights Day (Dec 10) Marking the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the fight for justice and equality. 🌏 International Migrants Day (Dec 18) Recognising the contributions of migrants and supporting their rights and safety. It is Pride month and on Saturday 1st of June MSF Greece - Médecins Sans Frontières Greece had our Annual General Assembly (GA). For the ones who are not familiar, MSF has a democratic structure and runs as an association in every country. The GA is the highest governance body in the organisation. We are #proud that we passed a motion to strengthen the work that Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) does with LGBTQIA+ persons. We recognise the barriers, both internal and external, and we ask to do even more than what the organisation already does to ensure we provide inclusive health care and support everyone who faces violence and discrimination because of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Learn more about what MSF already does for LGBTQIA+ inclusive care here: https://lnkd.in/eJfpKi7N https://lnkd.in/eHv_yTfk https://lnkd.in/ek-GkZsu #LGBTQIA+ #InclusiveHealthCare #PrideMonth #Humanitarian

The EU must act now to ensure preparedness. 🇪🇺 The Mpox outbreak highlights the need for proactive and united action across Europe. 🦠 While ensuring preparedness, we must also combat stigmatization, especially within marginalized communities and the LGBTIQ+ community by offering strong support and access to treatment to those affected. #Mpox #EU #WHO

Duty bearers play a crucial role in helping to improve the level of service delivery for members of key population groups. Our recent human rights training session with police officers and other social protection service providers from Regions 5 and 6 in Guyana, focused on helping them to better understand the relationship between human rights violation, including gender-based violence (GBV) and HIV/AIDS, especially when it comes to members of key population groups.
