Friends. It's time for our second hackathon! It will be starting on August 5th. We got some AWESOME feedback on the first one! Multiple people built some great things. Now it's time to up the game. Some changes from the first hackathon: 1. We will do it over 14 days instead of 5. 5 just seemed a little too short to accomplish everything we wanted to do 2. We are limiting the seat count (We don't believe we can truly serve an infinite number of people) 3. We are adding a social media element. The most powerful thing you can do is build in the open, especially in our hyper connected world. So without further rambling, sign up for our hackathon here: https://lnkd.in/gW-sbxUn As I said, seats are limited, so sign up soon! We are beyond excited to help you build your dream software in just 14 days! Rosson Long Sterling Long Kaitlin Pierce Dan S.

I built a tool designed for hackathon organizers to easily verify the originality of submitted projects. RepoVerifier simplifies the process, helping hackathons maintain integrity and fairness. Half baked thought: would be cool to run a hackathon with your users. Basically match 1 to 2 users with 2 employees and build a product for/with them. Not entirely sure which users would self select into this - I’d assume power users, which may be limiting your builds. But maybe if you paid folks to participate you could get more invovlement? Generally think it’s an interesting way to bring in the voice of customer and build for actual needs

Recap of the Compose SDK ‘Analytics in Action Hackathon’ ⬇️ ‣ What it was: We invited app builders from all backgrounds to join our first-ever hackathon. Using React, Angular, or Vue.js, 20+ participants were challenged to “enhance an existing app or develop a new front-end solution leveraging the capabilities of Compose SDK.” ‣ Judges were: Ayala Michelson (Chief Product Officer), Billy Kovalsky 🎗️(VP of Product), Steven Griffith (Senior Director, SDK), Tuan Pham (Staff Software Engineer), and Steve Poff (Senior Solutions Engineer) ‣ Winning projects included: a dashboard builder that allows for write-back capabilities🥇 from Team Measuremen and a healthcare analytics dashboard from Team CareInsights🥈 ‣ Key Takeaways: A need for increased clarity of examples regarding certain functionalities—for example, formatting dates and currencies. ‣ Product results: Ability to improve product documentation, more Compose SDK capabilities and increased clarity. Thanks to everyone for participating, we're looking forward to the next hackathon! See the winning entry: https://bit.ly/3yuS9Vv #hackathon #SDK #DataAnalytics

I'm pleased to share my first Hackathon experience! My team and I had 5 days to get to know each other, come up with an app idea, plan the project, and execute the plan with good team collaboration. The theme of the March Hackathon was "World Happiness Day". My team and I came up with an app that generates random acts of kindness called "Happiness Unleashed", where users can set acts of kindness for others and also share posts about their own experiences. App link: https://lnkd.in/dbRn6iNT Github repository: https://lnkd.in/dBemSfHG Technologies used: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Django, Bootstrap, ElephantSQL, cloudinary, and Heroku. This experience taught me how to work well in a team, meet strict deadlines, engage with people I didn't know well at first, develop my technological abilities, and much more. My team was fantastic, engaging, and fun to work with - I learned a lot from them! Team: Stephen Dawson, Hilla Muraja_5P, Ann Edvinsson, Felipe Zanetti, Florian Guldner, and Soundarya Kantimahanti. #CodeInstituteHackathon #CodeInstitute #CodeInstituteCommunity #CodeInstituteHappinessHackathon
