Have you ever wondered how startups are transforming the commerce landscape at lightning speed? 🚀 Zepto, a startup focused on quick commerce, just raised a whopping $665 million, achieving a valuation of $3.6 billion! This incredible milestone highlights the growing demand for rapid delivery services and the competitive landscape of the quick commerce market. As an entrepreneurship enthusiast, this news reaffirms a powerful trend: speed and convenience are becoming paramount. The rapid influx of funding into Zepto signals investors' confidence in the future of instant delivery services. But what does this mean for other startups? 🧐 The quick commerce trend demonstrates a significant opportunity for innovation. Whether you’re in logistics, tech, or even lifestyle products, finding ways to make services faster and more efficient can attract significant investor interest. With giants like Zepto leading the charge, the competition is fierce. New entrants must not only match the speed but also enhance user experience and operational efficiency. This raises the bar for funding rounds. High valuations are now more common, but they come with the expectation of rapid growth and scalability. For aspiring entrepreneurs and startups, now is the time to gear up and embrace the quick commerce wave. Ready to disrupt the market? Hyperlocal delivery startup magicpin has announced that it is now clocking 1.5 lakh daily food and logistics orders on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), a major achievement for the company since its debut on the state-backed platform in March 2023. In a statement, Magicpin highlighted the impressive growth of its operations, reporting a 1500X surge in the number of orders in just 16 months—from 100 orders per day in May 2023 to 1.5 lakh daily orders at the end of September 2024. The startup also noted that its restaurant base had expanded to 70,000 by September 2024, compared to 22,000 when it first joined ONDC. Founded in 2015 by Anshoo Sharma and Brij Bhushan, Magicpin initially started as a platform for restaurant discovery and user savings. Since then, the company has evolved into one of the first platforms to join ONDC, supporting sellers and restaurants in adopting the open protocol. My first monthly opinion piece for UKTN "Why startups should avoid product-market fit tunnel vision" Seen a lot of companies and founders become obsessed with product functionality at the detriment to their business or customers. Most of the time the customers want less than you think. Also that this all costs money and resources you could probably focus on elsewhere. Thank you to Robert Scammell for his help. #startups #productmarketfit #uktech #entrepreneurs https://lnkd.in/g6Rsh6DV

Surprisingly, startup business statistics reveal that entrepreneurs often overestimate their funding needs. On average, business founders spend around 89% of their planned budget, whether for online, mobile, or brick-and-mortar stores. The variance is more pronounced for online stores compared to mobile and physical stores. #Business #BusinessOwner #BusinessFromAnywhere #StartUps #StartUpBudgets

The True Cost of "Free Delivery" No One Tells You About "Free delivery" sounds like a win, right? It’s not. I’ve seen startups tank because “free” kills their margins. The math never adds up, but brands do it anyway. Lesson for brands and startups? - Free delivery isn’t free—it’s a silent profit killer. - You’re not just covering costs, you’re burning cash daily. I revealed the entire scene. ⤵️ 1. Stop absorbing delivery fees. Customers will pay for value. 2. Offer loyalty perks instead—discounts for repeat orders. 3. Bundle items to spread delivery costs across larger carts. If you’re still pushing “free delivery,” think long-term. Profitability isn’t optional—it’s survival. PS: Free isn’t a strategy. Value is. What’s your take? Raise your hand if you’re feeling this! 🙋 #quickcommerce #startups
