As the article below highlights, The United States Defense Department recently released the 2024 Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity Strategy. The strategy nests under the 2022 National Defense Strategy, the 2023 National Cybersecurity Strategy, and the 2023 DoD Cyber Strategy and aligns with the 2024 DoD National Defense Industrial Strategy and the National Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework. This is very significant in light of the danger of cyberattacks against the Defense Industrial Base and recent attacks against United States utilities. The security ecosystem is bigger than the defense sector, and the need for combined/coordinated actions against threats is demanding all parties understand where the interagency process meets private business for the security of all. https://lnkd.in/gNr_C2Pu

The #CMMC rule has officially been published in the Federal Register! We have been working hard for a long time to get ready and I am thankful for the many people who have helped us prepare for the implementation. The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) rule is designed to verify that defense contractors are compliant with existing protections for federal contract information (FCI) and controlled unclassified information (CUI). It ensures that these contractors are protecting sensitive information at a level commensurate with the risk from cybersecurity threats. The rule aligns with the cybersecurity requirements described in Federal Acquisition Regulation part 52.204-21 and NIST Special Publications 800-171 Rev 2 and -172 #Cybersecurity https://lnkd.in/eEAZNVEJ
