Global eCommerce sales in 2014: $1.3 trillion Global eCommerce sales in 2027: more than $8 trillion That’s a 600% bounce. By 2026, online retail is projected to account for 24% of total retail sales. But what’s also rising is customer acquisition costs - up 60% since 2015. Competition is growing, and margins are shrinking. To thrive, eCommerce businesses are pulling every trick in the book to diversify revenue streams: - Create B2B channels - Develop private label products - Offer subscription models - Monetize their data Those are all worth legitimate channels to explore. But they’re also harder to develop and maintain. Ad monetization is the lowest hanging fruit for any eCommerce looking for another revenue stream. #ecommerce #advertising (image source: statista)
