Together, they aim to enhance global e-commerce logistics and improve customer experiences worldwide. Why this partnership matters: Qatar Airways Cargo brings global connectivity and a state-of-the-art fleet. Cainiao contributes deep e-commerce insights and tech expertise. Both are focused on faster deliveries and improving supply chain efficiency. Qatar Airways Cargo Chief Officer, Mark Drusch, stated: “Since our collaboration with Cainiao began in 2021, we’ve seen significant growth. 再見 香港 | Goodbye #HongKong ! Thank you for hosting the IATA World Cargo Symposium, 2024. This year’s IATA World Cargo Symposium has been the largest International Air Transport Association (IATA) event ever, with record-breaking attendance exceeding 1,900. We are looking back on three successful days and the Köln Bonn Airport Cargo team have been thrilled to meet with so many of our current and potential partners. Indeed, it was a great event, with plenty of encouraging talks, engaging conversations and impactful presentations of current and future trends in #digitalization, #sustainability as well as #safety and #security in the #aircargo industry. But the current topic remains #eCommerce, so what were the key takeouts? ·  The e-commerce market grew by 30% in 2023 and now accounts for 20 percent of total air cargo volumes ·  80% of all e-commerce currently flies by air ·  The biggest challenge is currently the limited visibility across the industry,from end-users to e-tailers to airlines ·  Airlines know everything about passengers, but they know practically nothing about e-commerce parcels – and by 2027 there will be 256 billion a year. ·  Visibility, collaboration, and communication along the supply chain are pivotal to future progress, but the safety mindset is also decisive for all involved stakeholders. Therefore, stricter penalties must be ensured for undeclared and misdeclared dangerous goods.
