Ya'll, It is the Midway point for the Leaders of impact fundraising campaign that I have been nominated to particiapte in! We have already made such a difference from the donations made from my amazing friends, family and colleagues! As we go into this week, I wanted to highlight the importance making small changes in your everyday life. Making these changes every day can add up to big improvements in your overall health. Life’s Essential 8 is the science-based recipe for a longer, healthier life. It identifies the 8 most important factors for cardiovascular health – 4 health behaviors and 4 health factors. Learn more about those factors at this link: https://lnkd.in/eJZskPze If this article resonates with you or you would like to be a changer maker in the pursuit for heart health equity for all, you can donate on my website below! https://lnkd.in/ex8qy9Mw

💫 Energetic Leader | Committed to Partnerships & Growth | Building Strong Community Connections ✅ | 📍[email protected]
Being nominated as a Leader of Impact wasn’t something I saw coming, and I still have no idea who thought enough of me to nominate me, BUT I will say this: 🤯 It’s been a journey! Heart disease isn’t something we talk about often UNLESS we are directly impacted… but it’s time to change that narrative. 🩺 Did you know that heart disease is on the rise among younger adults? In fact, between 2019 and 2020, heart disease death rates for individuals aged 25 to 44 increased by 15%! 😳 That’s OUR generation. This isn’t just an issue for the elderly—millennials are facing it head-on, too. Together, we can change the statistics. By raising awareness and supporting research and prevention, we can save lives. I’m wrapping up my American Heart Association Leader of Impact campaign on December 4th, and I need YOUR support. Every dollar makes a difference in the fight against heart disease. Will you join me? 👉🏾 Click here to donate: https://lnkd.in/e-bg5vCV Let’s be the generation that takes heart health seriously and makes an impact! 🤍 #HeartHealth #LeaderOfImpact #MillennialsForHeartHealth

Digital maturity is a never-ending journey, and it’s never simple. If you aren’t struggling then you’re probably not doing it right. The complexity stems from how every change leader has a unique set of circumstances to navigate, from the internal politics and organisational culture around change, to the local history around digital transformation, to the legacy technology and the vendor relationships, to the financial outlook, to the talent and capacity available, to the buy-in at the frontline, to the ambition and will at the top to elevate capabilities around digital and data, and more. Perhaps the simplest ways to begin and to make progress are to share war stories about the challenges, the constraints, the things that worked and the things that didn’t, with other leaders on similar journeys. Opportunities to share and learn in a safe space with the right people outside your own region aren’t always easy to find, so it’s wonderful to see that HIMSS are running a digital maturity forum all day on December 5th, in London, hosted by GOSH DRIVE - the innovation unit for Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH). I’m delighted to be part of it (as both a Vice Chair of HIMSS UK & Ireland, and also the Head of Commercial at GOSH). If you’re interested in sharing war stories or learning (or both), this forum is worth registering for. The link is in the post below. Spaces are limited, but it will run again and the next one will be hosted by the team at Alder Hey Innovation.
London: are you pulling up to our Digital Health Maturity Forum on Dec. 5? We've got a who's who of speakers coming to share insights from their work in top UK systems. There's still time to join us at Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, so make sure you register for yourself and your colleagues today: https://bit.ly/3YHEPHq Featured Speakers: Dermot Ryan, John Rayner, Leila Brown, Hassan Chaudhury HonFAPM

Huge Congratulations to Philip Ozuah on being the living evidence of committing to 30 years, as CEO of Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx .. and the reason why this historic donation was made to you, and what you’ve built there. It’s totally humbling to work alongside you and to see some of our collective ideas come to life in this incredible world-changing way .. “I believe we can change healthcare history when we recognize that access is the path to excellence.” 🙌🚀

You may know me from my feature cover on Men’s Health or my book, The 1st Aisle, available on Amazon, maybe you’ve seen me in a few commercials on TV, or you’ve seen my exercise videos on Instagram and YouTube. But, now, it’s time to get serious. For the last 35 years I’ve lived a plant-based vegan life and I’m positive it’s saved me from a stroke, heart disease, diabetes, being overweight and God only knows what else. A lot of the insight I’ve received about plant-based eating is from PCRM, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, based in Washington D.C., led by Dr. Neal Barnard. The mission of PCRM is to save and improve human and animal lives through plant-based diets and ethical and effective scientific research. That said, I’m doing an awareness campaign and fundraiser for PCRM, which is a bike ride departing from Central Park in New York City on May 21st and arriving at Lincoln Park in Chicago on June 5th. The ride is to inspire the African-American community to combat heart disease with a combination of cardiovascular exercise and plant-based eating, two things I’ve dedicated my life to. PCRM has many great programs and initiatives that we all need to be aware of and it’s all about improving the quality of life for you, your family, your loved ones and everyone else who wants to join the party. It’s my mission to help promote those programs and get a million people to adopt a plant-based lifestyle so the African-American community and the world at large will be healthier and happier. However, this mission will only be realized through your generous contributions to help fund the trip and donate money to PCRM. Any contribution is greatly appreciated. We’re accepting corporate donations and I’ve set up a GoFundMe page to make your contributions easy and seamless. To track my progress on the 1,100 mile journey from New York to Chicago, follow me on Instagram and YouTube. I’ll be giving daily progress reports and you’ll even be able to track me in real time. If you’d like you can even join me on the road for parts of the ride! I can’t do this without you. Understand that together we can literally save a lot of lives and make something special happen. I thank you in advance for your support. To DONATE go to https://lnkd.in/eQEUWvGi https://lnkd.in/eYTJP4Ad

Arnprior Regional Health celebrated a major milestone on December 3, 2024, as the first patient received a CT scan using the hospital’s newly installed state-of-the-art equipment. This moment marks the beginning of a new era of enhanced, patient-centered diagnostic care for Arnprior and surrounding areas. “This is a tremendous step forward for Arnprior Regional Health and the patients we serve,” said Jeremy Stevenson, President and CEO. “Having this state-of-the-art technology on-site means improved access, faster diagnoses, and better health outcomes for our community.” The addition of the CT scanner was made possible thanks to the generosity of community members, businesses, and organizations who supported the fundraising campaign, which has now reached 95% of its $2.2 million goal. To bring the campaign to a close, a $40,000 donation matching opportunity is currently underway, doubling the impact of every dollar contributed.
