The end of the year is approaching - a time for reflection and planning As 2024 draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to look back on what the year has brought us and the valuable business contacts we’ve made along the way. In cosmetics, our journey began at the Paris International Cosmetics Fair, where we significantly expanded our network. 🇫🇷 From there, we traveled to Cyprus, where we discovered the innovative Lovie app. 🇨🇾 At the Warsaw show, we teamed up with Proteflex, a prosthetics company, where we contributed to groundbreaking research. 🇵🇱 Our global journey continued to Xiamen, China, where the CIFIT exhibition opened new doors for exports to the Chinese market. 🇨🇳 This was followed by Astana, Kazakhstan, where we laid the foundation for launching production in the region. 🇰🇿 We recently attended the CIIE in Shanghai, an event that will shape our challenges and aspirations for 2025. 🌏 Through it all, we have remained true to our unique vision and path – one that not only unites us as a team, but also serves as an inspiration to others. SWISS-TURKISH BUSINESS FORUM: A PLATFORM FOR ECONOMIC DIALOGUE IN ZURICH On December 4, 2024, the 4th Swiss-Turkish Business Forum took place at the S-GE Switzerland Global Enterprise hall in Zurich, uniting influential figures from both the Turkish and Swiss business sectors. Among the 80 participants were Fazlı Çorman, the Turkish Consul General in Zurich, Osman Beyhan, the Commercial Attaché of the Turkish Embassy, Burak Öztürk, the General Manager of Turkish Airlines Zurich, and many other business leaders. The event began with an opening speech by Philippe Graber, President of the Swiss-Turkish Business Council (STBC). Turkish Consul General Fazlı Çorman provided valuable insights into investment opportunities in Turkey, while Stefan Barny, Director of S-GE, stressed the significance of trade relations between Switzerland and Turkey. The forum featured expert presentations from Gero Jung (Mirabaud Bank), who provided a comprehensive analysis of the global economy, Can Selçuki (Research Istanbul), who discussed Turkey's economic situation and its challenges, and Sami Çebi (CEO of SICPA), who shared the company's success story and offered motivational messages to the business community. Thanks to the Vidby platform, participants were able to follow the talks in their native languages, increasing the event's accessibility. 🌍 Dubai is buzzing as always! Yesterday, I had the chance to attend the Expand North Star exhibition, and what an experience it was. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that the energy in the room was next-level. The exhibition was absolutely packed with innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders from every corner of the globe. I was particularly impressed by the great number of startups representing diverse industries from all around the world – it’s a true global hub of innovation! Expand North Star first launched in 2016 and has grown into one of the world’s premier platforms for entrepreneurs and investors alike. Initially held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, it’s now hosted at the stunning Dubai Harbour, where it has been taking place since 2022. The move to Dubai Harbour reflects the event’s remarkable growth and its ambition to accommodate even larger crowds and more global innovation. One of the event’s highlights was the impressive range of valuable panels. These sessions offered deep insights from seasoned experts and entrepreneurs across various sectors, providing a unique opportunity to share knowledge and exchange experiences. Whether it was about the latest in tech, scaling a business, or navigating the global startup landscape, the panels were a goldmine of information that left every attendee better informed and inspired. I even had the chance to listen to some great women talking about their experiences where a lot of young people had the opportunity to ask questions to the panelists. Business Mission Singapore-Mexico to Develop Agenda in Tijuana The Overseas Manufacturing Workshop Mexico is set to develop a comprehensive agenda in Tijuana, Baja California, where it will hold various meetings with business chambers, authorities, and promotional organisations, as well as visit industrial parks and other points of interest in this border city. Luis Coronado, founder and President of the Singapore-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, emphasised the significance of this visit, scheduled from Wednesday, 10th to Friday, 12th July. He stated that it repositions Tijuana and Baja California as strategic points in the global economic landscape. The Tijuana native, now residing in Singapore, detailed that this business mission’s visit to Tijuana will mark the conclusion of a 12-day agenda in Mexico. This agenda began on the 1st of July in Mexico City and includes activities in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and Monterrey, Nuevo León. "Undoubtedly, the visit to Tijuana is very important and represents a significant point of interest for this mission due to its strategic location and the immense potential for attracting investments in this region," Coronado remarked. The work agenda in this border city includes several notable meetings, such as with the Tijuana Economic Development Council; Tijuana Economic and Industrial Development (Deitac Tijuana); the medical services cluster; the Association of the Maquiladora and Export Manufacturing Industry (Index); and authorities from the Baja California Secretariat of Economy and Innovation, headed by its Secretary, Kurt Honold Morales. The Singapore Mexico Chamber of Commerce is a coalition of distinguished entrepreneurs from both Singapore and Mexico, aiming to promote trade, investment, and business expansion between the two countries, fostering strong relationships and joint business growth. "This agenda also includes visits to various industrial parks and established companies in the region, focusing on areas of interest such as electronics, telecommunications, and aerospace. Additionally, segments like tourism and medical tourism will be explored, which is why the visit to Tijuana is so crucial as part of this mission," concluded Luis Coronado.
