How would you describe your perfect whisky? What is it that you look for? A question to both the newly whisky-curious, and the established whisky enthusiasts. I would love to hear about your experiences, what you are chasing, and perhaps what you are looking for but struggling to find. The category 'whisky' is so broad that all manner of flavours can be found within it. In Scotland alone, there are the beautifully floral and delicate, the rich, oily and bold, and the smoky and medicinal just to name a few. And that was by no means an exhaustive list! Is it a style of whisky, a particular flavour within your whisky, or maybe a certain mouthfeel or finish which you find yourself gravitating towards? Let's talk whisky! Slainte.

Are you making this mistake? If you're new to whisky or seeking new ways to enjoy a glass, there are a few common mistakes to sidestep. Here’s a guide to help make your next pour the best one yet! 1️⃣ Price ≠ Quality: A higher price doesn’t always mean better whisky. Explore single malts at different price points, focusing on flavor, craftsmanship, and personal taste over price. 2️⃣ Whisky Isn’t a Shot: Single malts are meant to be savored. Sip slowly to enjoy the unfolding flavors and layers of complexity—no need to rush! 3️⃣ Age Isn’t Everything: A whisky’s age doesn’t guarantee quality. Younger whiskies can be bold and vibrant, while older ones may not always match your taste. Focus on finding the right flavor balance. For a standout single malt that defies convention, try Paul John whisky. This Indian whisky, crafted in Goa, offers rich honey, spicy warmth, and a hint of smoke—a true flavor journey! Tag Paul John in the comments if you’ve tried or are keen to taste the Paul John Bold. Cheers! 🥂 #sonalholland #masterofwine #pauljohnwhiskey #bold #whiskey #indianwhiskey #singlemalt #beginners #whisky

Marrying Traditions with a Twist – A Gin and Whisky Love Story Ever heard of a love story between gin and whisky? Well, buckle up for some unconventional sipping because there's a new spirit in town blending London Dry Gin with The Glenturret Distillery's new-make spirit. Traditions are cozy, but let's be honest, sometimes playing matchmaker with unexpected partners is where the real magic happens. I mean, who would have thought gin and whisky could be more than just bar buddies? One gem from the article says it all: "It's a bold move, meshing two distinct spirits into one harmonious blend." That's like chocolate meeting peanut butter for the first time – simply meant to be! At Supergay Spirits, we cheer for bold blends and the mavericks mixing them. It's why we're all about stirring the pot (or the cocktail shaker, really). We value brave creativity like this, and it's exciting to see others do the same. So here's to the rule-benders – may our glasses always brim with innovation! 📜 Today, we unveil a secret: why is whiskey smoked in the glass? You can never have too much smoke when it comes to a whiskey cocktail, especially with our Scotсh FLY! Want to add depth and intensity to the flavor? Then try the smoky ritual – a technique beloved by true connoisseurs. It enhances the hints of peat and oak barrels already present in our blend, turning each sip into a rich, refined pleasure. ❓ How do the pros do it? They smoke the whiskey right in the glass (there are many methods!), adding a few drops of orange bitters, a piece of ice, and a touch of orange zest. The combination of smoke and these ingredients creates a truly unique, sophisticated experience, heightening the flavor profile. 🥃 But for those who want to experience the pure essence of our whiskey, without any additions, the classic method remains unrivaled. It preserves every subtle note and highlights the strength of Scottish whiskey-making tradition. FLY – crafted in Scotland to honor ancient traditions and the spirit of true whiskey.

Using a barrel made from juniper wood for the finush of a single malt whisky will impart unique flavors and aromas to the whisky. Juniper wood will add a distinctive herbal and woody character, along with hints of spice and earthiness. This will complement the natural flavors of the whisky, enhancing its complexity and depth. However, since juniper is a potent flavor, the maturation process will need to be carefully monitored to ensure the whisky doesn't become overwhelmed by the juniper notes. Overall, it will result in a distinctive and intriguing whisky profile. Gin makers will also benefit using this very rare wood. Art and cask, have a nice selection of rare Juniper barrels masterpieces, yes we can call these masterpieces as few coopers have our knowledge to make such rarities. Sizes vary depending on the tree. but as a guideline 100 yo 140 litres is about the norm. www.artandcask.com www.artandcask.fr
