Digital payments continue to grow in Italy, recording +12 percent in 2023 compared to the previous year. Recording the growth trend is the Innovative Payments Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano, which, as Giulia Cimpanelli points out in the La Repubblica article, also predicts an increase in alternative payment methods to cards thanks to new technologies. So-called "alternative payment methods" will open new possibilities and scenarios by bringing "superApps" such as Alipay to the Italian scene.
