12 months ago I left my comfortable job with nothing but a laptop and a dream. I was terrified. What if I couldn't find my footing? What if I wasn't good enough? But I knew I had to try. But slowly, things started to change. I began to refine my skills. My confidence grew with each small win. I started attracting clients who aligned with my vision. Now, I run my own social media strategy business. I work with clients I'm excited about, constantly learn and evolve, and help others build their online presence. There's a lot I've struggled with in the last 12 months of running my own business and The Marketing Club AU/NZ But the biggest one would be that EVERYTHING is new 😅 I'm uncomfortable all the time 😅 I don't always knowing what to do next 😅 I'm doing something I've never done before 😅 I've made mistakes and had to learn quickly And it's hard. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't. It's hard to know who to turn to, who to ask for help, who to lean on when it all feels impossible, and how to pick yourself up when things aren't going how you thought they would. At a certain point, growth becomes less about what others have to say and more about finding your own voice. Of course, in good balance, receiving in a myriad of ways is appropriate and generative. However when it becomes a crutch and form of hiding, fear and doubt are most likely driving to protect you from something that feels real but may not actually be a true threat. For example, when your next step is to share more publicly so more people can find what you offer, but you keep looking at what everyone else is posting on social media instead. Maybe even going into comparison and shame spirals. Or looking for validation that you’re not alone, that you belong, and that others are in agreement with you. The brain loves scrolling. It’s like hunting. How thrilling it is to find something that’s validating. Even better to share it so others might understand and like (or even love) it. Books are so juicy too. Meaty nourishment. Experts, good coaches, and psychic mediums are so reassuring sometimes. But, at the end (and beginning!) of the day, what’s happening in your world? How do you really feel under the surface? There are two choices given to you One is an opportunity to get the finest knowledge from great mentors Second is an opportunity to get directly funded by an investor What will you choose? . . . This was asked from me when I got to work closely with a founder when I was just 17 years old. The immature thought of taking the second option came to my mind first ( with honesty ) Later when I took time to think and answer that question, I realised that if I am getting a chance to directly work with a person who is a founder and ready to train me then why waste this.... So I chose the first option and 7 years later you can see where I am today! I am so happy about that decision because it gave me all the luxury and freedom which I always wanted in my life. Today I believe that my life is in control and I choose value more over money! I enjoy this life so much because that knowledge is still giving me the ROI and I am so confident about that. Just imagine if that guy invested in a startup the max at that time he was offering was a sum of Rs 50000 That was way enough for me back then to start a company as per my Business Plan but Thanks to the universe I made the right decision ☺️ P.S What will you choose?
