A comfort zone might feel like a safe space, but in all likelihood, it's lulling you and your business into complacency and preventing you from achieving greater success.
In this TAB Talk video, The Alternative Board (Worldwide) President & CEO Jason Zickerman explains why stepping beyond your comfort zone is essential for growth and success.
With his thought-provoking insights and practical questions, you’ll be inspired to reflect on where you stand now and where you want to go.
Ask yourself, is it time to challenge your boundaries?

Hi, everybody. Jason Zuckerman here, and I hope you're doing fantastic. You know what, Ted? We often discuss the concept of comfort zones and the need for all of us to step outside of them. You see comfort zones. While seemingly safe harbors, they're actually treacherous waters. They offer us this false sense of security, allowing us to stay within our competencies. Yet they also stunt our growth by deterring us from taking risks, embracing new experiences, and learning from inevitable mistakes. Indeed, comfort zones are barriers to both personal and professional development, inhibiting us from pursuing our aspirations. As my colleague Bill Jennings aptly put it to me the other week. Comfort zones is where dreams come to die. So I invite you to ponder a few questions. What lies within your comfort zone and what exists beyond it? Do you find yourself predominantly residing within this zone? And how frequently are you willing to venture out to the periphery or perhaps even step outside that comfort zone? Can you recall a recent instance when you move beyond your comfort zone? How did it make you feel? What lessons did you glean from that experience? You see, I encourage you and all business owners to dedicate a few moments each week for this reflection. Consider the times that you remain within your comfort zone against those you dare to extend beyond its bounds. Aim to gently expand these boundaries week by week. You'll likely discover that the realm outside of your comfort zone will become increasingly familiar territory, steering you closer to your ultimate goals as well as your desires. Give this a shot and let me know what you think.
