We’re stepping into a new space era, where innovation and investment are changing the game.
The space industry has expanded beyond government programs, now a $469 billion global economy. More than 10,000 companies and 5,000 investors are involved, driving innovation in areas like satellite technology, data collection, and even asteroid mining.
Private companies play a major role, contributing over $224 billion to the industry in 2021. At the same time, government spending on space projects has increased by 19% globally, with countries like the U.S., China, and India increasing investments in both military and civilian space programs. This is helping industries like agriculture, energy, and climate science by providing data and connectivity.
However, rapid growth brings challenges like 9,000 tonnes of space debris orbiting Earth. To address this, the World Economic Forum’s Space Sustainability Rating (SSR) is promoting responsible space activity and better management of debris.
At InnoQube Switzerland, we believe that SpaceTech will be critical in solving Earth’s challenges and unlocking new frontiers. That’s why SpaceTech is one of our key verticals in our startup accelerator program. Our startup accelerator program offers tailored guidance, access to global networks, and venture capital opportunities to help innovative startups thrive in this fast-growing sector. If your startup is working on groundbreaking space technologies, we invite you to apply to Batch 2 of our Startup Program.
