Sooooo I am seeing so many "we're hiring" posts for content writers and copywriters that list 4,598 that the writer will be expected to do and ZERO indication of what the pay will be. Honestly, I've just started to scroll on by when that information is lacking, and I'm sure I'm not the only freelance writer, who would make a great addition to your team, that is doing so. You gotta share those rates! #recruiters #contentwriter #contentmarketing #hr #humanresources

Apparently we're hiring writers again. I'm going to point out that I phrased that exactly as intended. To be clear, neither I nor anyone actually at SlashGear actually are in charge of the initial hiring. That's all done by Static Media (our parent company). You are welcome to ask me about the opportunity, work culture, etc. I'll be happy to give you the 411 -- TL;DR It's great, but there's baggage like anywhere else. But if you want to know who to contact about this job listing, I'll give you a big 'ol shrug emoji, because we don't see writers until they pass the initial filter of Static Media. Here's what I can tell you about the job - Pay is $21/hour or $0.08 per word. That's not amazing, but also not the worst out there. - Topics are very SEO heavy. If you're writing about it, chances are 20,000 people are searching for it on Google right now. - Topics have also been VERY car-heavy for a long time. Think best lists for cars. Look at SlashGear.com and you'll get an idea of what we've been publishing recently. If you're a tech writer, those topics are significantly fewer, though once you're in, we will consider pitches, but remember the 20,000/Google thing. Good luck, and maybe we can share a Slack room some time ;-).

2 common approaches to hiring writers: 1. "We don't use freelancers. They don't get our product." 2. "Let's outsource all content creation!" Both are missing the point. It doesn't have to be either/or. Freelancers don't replace in-house teams. They strengthen them. Outsourcing content can solve a major marketing pain point... Time. ⏳ Creating good content takes time. And a freelancer can help speed things up. When should you outsource to save time? - One-off projects. - Product launches. - Seasonal campaigns. - Rebranding of website. - Periods of rapid growth. - Expansion into a new market. - Vacancy in the in-house team. - Overwhelming content backlog. When should you stick with in-house? → Full-time, ongoing content needs. → Projects that need constant, on-site availability. Freelancers are a valuable extension for in-house teams. Not a replacement for them.

I have some good news about bad clients. They're few and far between. That's right. I've been a freelance writer for 15+ years and have only run into a handful of truly bad clients. Most of them are easy to work with and do exactly what they say. Even better, some go above and beyond. Here are some personal examples: Clients that cover PayPal fees Clients that send holiday gifts :) Clients that take the time to get to know me personally Clients that pay more than the invoice to make up for a late payment Clients that offer "no questions asked" flexibility during times of emergency Don't let one bad 🍎 spoil the bunch. Freelance writers? Or know one... SageMG has some opportunities for a contract copywriter. If you are interested, or know someone that might be interested, please send resume and interest to [email protected] Update: Thank you for all the shares and inquiries. I have been overwhelmed. At this point I cannot accept any more inquiries until I sift through the current replies. Thank you. 10/24 7:00am MST Update 2: With 10s of replies we are going to have to pare down to writers within the United States. There are many instances when our writer might have to connect with our team or client (especially kickoff meetings) that will dictate a more traditional work schedule for all parties.

There's an interesting freelance writer job posting trend I've noticed over the past 6 to 12 months. I generally see an uptick in activity toward the end of the month. I'm not sure why this is the case, but my best guess is that publishers and editors are looking to get their ducks in a row for the coming month. Now that we're in the last full week of April, I hope this trend holds true again. I'll keep you posted on my findings. And in the meantime, check out these two top opportunities: ✅ 🇺🇸 Draft.dev is hiring freelance writers to create content on technical topics ($300+/blog post) https://lnkd.in/gYGg6yQr ✅ 🇺🇸 Morgan Cutolo is hiring freelance writers at ConsumerAffairs https://lnkd.in/gqYHexPK Find more gigs in today's edition of Freelance Framework: https://lnkd.in/gYi3mjjn

Dear #freelancers, The number of people in the comments asking questions that have already been addressed in the post baffles me. If someone takes the time to provide you with this much information, the least you can do is read it - especially if you want work from them. When I'm hiring freelancers, and people can't follow simple, clear instructions when applying, I'm going to assume that they won't be able to follow a brief either. More than half the people have already discounted themselves with their comments. Don't get in your own way. 🤷🏽♀️ #freelancertips #jobapplicationtips
Strategic marketing that drives revenue for growth-stage companies 📈 | Fractional Marketer | LinkedIn Top Voice
Excited to announce I'm actively hiring 3 more freelance writers to help support my efforts as the Fractional Managing Editor at Juice due to what's shaping up to be a very busy March and Q2! At Juice, we specialize in building high-impact links that drive our clients' traffic, conversions, and revenue. We specialize in B2B link building that you can take to the bank. Here's some background on freelance writers that would be a good fit: * You (preferably) reside in the domestic US or Canada (that said, writers in other regions will be considered) * You have 1-2 years of blog writing experience on various topics (it's a GIANT plus if you've written on topics like sales, marketing, SaaS, software development, startups etc.) * You have a strong familiarity with tools like Google Docs, Slack, Asana, and Notion * Your schedule is flexible enough that you can consistently turn around 1,000-1,800 word articles on a 4-5 day turn-around time * For example, if you were assigned an article on Monday, you could turn around a draft by Friday. * Your writing is professional and polished and requires a light editing touch. Note: We may not be able to assign you an article every week, but you will consistently write at least 2-3 articles a month on average. Here's an idea of the typical pay structure: $200 - article word count: 1001-1500 $225 - article word count: 1501-2000 $250 - article word count: 2001-2500 $275 - article word count: 2501-3000 $300 - article word count: 3000-3500 To apply, complete the form below in the comments. * I will not respond to emails about these openings. * I will not respond to DMs or connection requests. * I am not interested in a 3rd party helping to fill the roles. Traditionally we receive a high volume of applications for these roles, so I ask for your patience in a response. I will respond to everyone in no less than one business week and sooner if I want to move you forward. I look forward to your application! PS: If you don't have interest but know someone who may, please tag them in the comments of this post!

I came across a post where an agency owner was unable to hire an exceptional writer to handle his brand's growing content needs. It is important to understand the following aspects when you hiring a freelance writer: - Realistic timelines so that content quality is not compromised - Competitive pay according to the value and impact they bring - Do not ask them for free unpaid assignments - Understanding that human-centric content is here to stay Think from the perspective of a writer, and you will understand the situation in a better way. If you as a brand or company face challenges in hiring quality writers, let's talk more about it. Do you think finding the right writers has been a challenge for your brand?
