Enhancing CSR Impact through collaboration with Marpu Foundation Marpu Foundation is a well known Non - Profit Organisation that supports the needs and incentives of the underprivileged, and the environment, which also leads them to provide internships and employment for the youth of India. Hence, it is a given that Marpu’s objectives collide with that of India’s Sustainable Development Goals and Corporate Social Responsibilities. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are goals that help preserve and enhance the environment and improve environmental awareness, while, on the other hand, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the responsibility of well earning corporates and their investment towards the general welfare and well being of the public. One of Marpu’s foundational sources of strength is in their commitment and dedication towards sustainable development. #SDG2 is a sustainable development goal that entails zero hunger. It aims to end hunger, achieve food security and improved security and promote sustainable agriculture. Thus, in this way, when a partnership is made with the Marpu Foundation, major SDGs are achieved. Another instance of SDGs being achieved is #SDG15 Life on Land, wherein the agricultural and environmental sectors of the economy are taken into account to be preserved and expanded. Also, in this way, CSRs are also achieved, as when companies actively engage to the best of the abilities in minimising hunger, protecting greenery and the planet, the general public benefits and reaps rewards. 

SBFC today celebrates its 7th Anniversary with proud theme on which the business has been built over the years. SBFCs business model has an inherent objective of transforming the lives of our Customer and our People. We lend to small businesses in small towns of India thus penetrating into a market which has not seen enough credit being deployed to fulfil their Dreams. To this effect, we have lent to 143126 customers in 16 states 2 UTs and 152 cities across India. Businesses are built by People. The real Joy of building business is that you get to build a team thousands of people across the country and provide the much-deserved livelihood while also generating value for other stakeholders. Having a right mix of experience and freshers is important to serve the customers and the community. Over the last two years, SBFC has hired 402 freshers across the country and given them the much-deserved employment and a platform to flourish in their Journey. This year we have taken the initiative to transform Lives by Upgrading Education for Underprivileged Children. SBFC set out on a mission to upgrade educational infrastructure in the Aspirational Districts Programme launched by Government of India. The project undertaken is to transform the school, Shri Swaminarayan Vidyalaya in Manipura, Viramgam, Ahmedabad. We enabled the school to offer education for classes 9th & 10th, bridging the gap beyond government-provided free education (up to 8th class). This benefited 117 students, including 59 new enrollments of girls from nearby villages. It also increased the school strength from 56 to 117 students (9th & 10th class). We are now in process to support these student’s education for classes 11th & 12th . The initiative helps to upgrade the fundamental educational infrastructure and enhance the standards through modern technology and equips the students with essential skills to thrive into tomorrow’s world. Meet our Chartered Manager of the Week: Dr. Thesara Jayawardane CMgr FCMI ⭐️ “My aspiration is to contribute to a society where my daughter and future generations can thrive without gender discrimination and are recognised for their intelligence and values,” says Thesara, who is former head of the Department of Industrial Management at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. And her expertise as a Chartered Manager is helping her do just that. She’s using her skills to help bring about wider social change as a co-founder of Aramuna, an organisation that empowers Sri Lankan women entrepreneurs. “Through CMI, one learns to come up with novel solutions to problems, and it’s this entrepreneurial mindset we’re trying to encourage so women can use their skills rather than just being a homemaker.” CMI has given her profound insights into equality and diversity that extend far beyond the current discussions in Sri Lanka, where the focus often remains on issues like equal pay. She now has a more nuanced understanding of issues, such as unconscious biases and inclusive leadership, she explains. Her learning has also helped her play a key role in establishing a new business faculty and industrial management department at the university. “It has expanded the university’s academic offerings, created new job opportunities and attracted top students, many of whom are female – they now make up 56% of the intake. “I use the CMI tools and read the publications so I’m growing and learning every day. And I always make a point of telling students they should become members of CMI too, as I really want them to enjoy the same benefits. I show them all the tools and information they can access and explain how they’ll help them grow as a person and as a manager. Goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of knowledge and wisdom, holds a revered place in our cultural ethos. Yet, as I visit campuses adorned with her statues, I often reflect on how rarely her spirit is truly embraced. In one of my earlier posts on Vasant Panchami, I highlighted the significance of Saraswati Pooja for knowledge seekers and workers. Interestingly, many draw a contrast between Saraswati and Lakshmi, emphasizing the pursuit of wealth and luxury as the ultimate aim of higher education. However, this perspective often overlooks the deeper process of growth and fulfillment beautifully articulated in the following shloka: विद्या ददाति विनयं विनयाद याति पात्रताम्। पात्रत्वात् धनम् आप्नोति धनाद धर्मं ततः सुखम्॥ "Knowledge instills humility, humility fosters worthiness, worthiness attracts wealth, wealth enables righteousness, and righteousness leads to true happiness." This profound wisdom reminds us that the pursuit of knowledge, guided by humility and purpose, is the true foundation of prosperity and contentment. Let us idolize Goddess Saraswati not just in form but in spirit, nurturing a culture that values knowledge as a means to holistic success.
