Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit! Today is the first of November and I wish you all good luck for the rest of the month. When I first became a technical trainer, I had no idea what I was teaching people. It was at Acme Packet (thank you to Karen and the Acme Packet team for giving me this opportunity) and it was my birthday week. I went in front of the class and “taught” them how to configure SBCs. I basically just read from the slides/notes. In hindsight, I feel really bad for my first year of students… It took about a year until 1 morning I woke up and said “oh, we’re trying to make phone calls work!” Once I had that ah-ha moment, the rest of the tech started to make sense and became very interesting. So, what I want to do this month is help you have that ah-ha moment as well. It all starts with the fundamentals. We all know you can’t spell fundamentals without the word “FUN,” right? 😜 (Groan) For this month (and maybe into the future, depending on how it goes), I am going to take you back to my journey and how I got it all to click with short lessons that I hope will piece everything together.
