It was my pleasure to be part of the panel discussion organized by Businessworld Budget 2024 and its implications for the education sector. There were very important issues discussed during the panel discussion including how the Budget Allocation for Education impacts Digital Education and Infrastructure; Vocational and Skill Development; and Public-Private Partnerships in Education. how will research and development benefit from budget provisions? How will the implementation of NEP be impacted by the Budget provisions? Prof. Deepak Khare, Dean Finance & Planning, IIT Roorkee, presented various aspects of international education and opportunities to students in India with the provisions in Budget 2024. He emphasized that avenues would increase for India's world-class facilities and education system. Even a 100 Crores internship will provide a great opportunity to increase Academia-Industry partnerships and provide more opportunities for jobs. Overall, many takeaways from the Budget would pave the way for National Education Policy (NEP) 20 and provide quality education to all children in India. The part of the Panel discussion is available at

Great, Prof. Khare. Now, that we are embracing #NEP2020, it is equally important to address the implementation challenges - and understandably, budget plays an important role. We need to smoothen the path, such exercises might trigger the enablers.
