The ambitions for the future role of #Hydrogen in a net zero scenario are high. On national and international level alike, strategies have been announced setting targets for electrolyzing capacity several 100 times higher than what is currently installed. In the Nordics as well as Europe, the private sector has been following up on these strategies, developing concrete project plans corresponding to - or even exceeding national and European goals. Only a small fraction of these projects have however made it to the final investment decision (FID). Even fewer are under construction or have already been commissioned. Making hydrogen projects bankable and achieving a #FID have proven critical hurdles for the European Hydrogen Economy. Key factors include securing partnerships with established stakeholders and demonstrating both technological feasibility and market demand.
