Attending the East Africa Law Society (Official) Young Lawyers Convention last week was an eye opener.
The event covered critical and forward-looking topics such as AI in legal practice, digital forensics, data protection, career opportunities in tech, and drafting data policies. It was both a fantastic learning opportunity and a chance to network with like-minded professionals passionate about the future of law and technology.
A highlight for me was seeing my colleague, Quency Otieno , present on AI and its transformative impact on legal practice. His insights were invaluable and sparked thought-provoking discussions on how we, as legal professionals, can better harness technology to enhance our practice and better serve our clients.
Key Takeaways:
1. Reskilling and Upskilling: The importance of acquiring new skills and improving existing ones to stay relevant in an evolving legal landscape.
2. Embracing Change: Being open to technological advancements and integrating them into our work to create more efficient and innovative legal practices.
