There are numerous (notable) companies out there that have a notoriously stretched out hiring process that can last up to 3 months. Does this automatically mean poor candidate experience? Not necessarily. Bear with me here. This post is inspired by the very interesting conversations I have been having with Naomi. Data gathered by the largest provider for measuring #candidateexperience shows that one of the best candidate experience was measured for a company with one of the longest hiring processes. How is this possible? It is because of the way they manage expectations and how they communicate with their candidates throughout the process. The key to happy candidates is not in a fast process but in ensuring that candidates know exactly what to expect right from the point they apply. I am not advocating a 90 days long hiring process. In fact on the contrary, I truly believe organisations should do everything possible to shorten the hiring process. But being fast alone without clear communication to all applicants will not ensure candidate satisfaction. Let me know how you measure candidate experience at your organisation?
