But this Manifests are initially designed to give Chrome Extensions more powers. And since we are discussing that : I have wrote a detailed blog piece on these Browser Extensions ➡️ How they work ➡️ Where they are mostly useful ➡️ How is the developer community Have a read and feel free to add your further thoughts 🙌🏻 (link in the first comment)

For all the uBlock Origin / Chrome users out there: Thanks to manifest v3 adblockers will have a hard time working properly in Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (if the authors are not maintaining manifest v2). The ending support for manifest v2 has big consequences for ad-blocking tools like uBlock origin as they rely on some of the APIs to do their job properly. https://lnkd.in/dBxifpMc

One of the most annoying message you got in Google Chrome while visiting an a local sites is this message, you can bypass this warning message with typing "thisisunsafe" on anywhere on the window and the browser will let you visit the page, The bypass has been put deliberately by the chrome dev team.

For Chrome users relying on uBlock Origin (uBO), the time has come to switch to Firefox! You might have noticed a new warning/error: "This extension is no longer available because it doesn’t follow best practices for our profit margins." This is due to Chrome phasing out Manifest V2, with uBO being a V2 extension. Manifest V3 has tighter restrictions, impacting ad blockers. Hello everyone, I wanted to share an update for those working with Chrome extensions. As of June 2024, Manifest Version 2 is deprecated, and Google has stopped supporting it. This means we need to transition to Manifest Version 3. I've included a photo below that highlights the key differences between Manifest Version 2 and Version 3. If I've missed any important points, please add them in the comments—it's very helpful for developers like us. #ChromeExtensions #WebDevelopment #TechUpdates
