🚗 What’s Your Front Line? 🚗 When you roll into your dealership each morning, are you cruising through your front line of inventory, making sure there aren’t any holes or tumbleweeds blowing through? Or maybe you grab that essential cup of coffee first (because let’s face it, caffeine is key) before taking a stroll through the lot. Either way, the goal is simple—get those fresh trades front and center, detailed, stickered, and ready to sell ASAP. ⏳ Time is money, and with inventory prices bouncing around like they’re on a rollercoaster, we need to keep things moving. The quicker we move these cars, the better. But here’s the thing…are we just focusing on the physical front line, or are we also keeping our online front line in top shape? You know the stat: 95% of consumers check online before even thinking about stepping foot in the dealership. So it’s just as critical to make sure those vehicles are front-line ready on the web. Most of us have software that pulls appraisal data, breaks down the make, model, equipment, and price instantly. But… where are the images? 🖼️ Shoppers want to see what they’re buying (and let’s be honest, nobody’s clicking on a photo-less listing like it’s some mystery box). My take is get those cars cleaned, photographed, and live as soon as they hit the lot. You can always circle back and retake photos if a little recon was needed to fix a ding or two. Let’s give 95% of your shoppers what they need to get excited and visit your store. Running performance max shopping and standard shopping campaigns at the same time. Does anyone else do this? If they share the same product the Pmax will take over. So I make sure to exclude products so they show up where I want them to. Why do this? It's generally when some product I think is a going to be a good seller doesn't get good results in Pmax and runs away with the budget. There is more control and data in a standard shopping campaign. If you do it another way please let me know.

Car Online Retail, a-la Schrödinger's cat Have you ever visited the online purchase section on an OEM's or dealer's website? If so, did you find it easy to navigate and understand how it works? Often, it takes time to figure out what services are offered under the Online Purchase section and how to use them. It's not uncommon to find that only the car inventory and a lead form are available. As a result, instead of making an online purchase, clients have to fill out a form. Shortly afterward (or sometimes after a longer wait), they receive a call from a sales manager inviting them to the showroom to discuss the purchase conditions in person. It's fair to say that this type of online purchase experience doesn't meet expectations in 2024.
