I am deeply grateful for all the heartfelt messages of congratulations regarding my “ 9 years” at Good Things Guy. However, it’s ridiculosuly funny how we can sometimes find ourselves in a loop of automated responses on LinkedIn. Example (and I am sure this is totally relatable): Person: “Congrats on your work anniversary” Me: “Thank you” Person: “You’re Welcome” Me: “Awesome” Person: “Nice” Me: “👍🏼” Person: “Okay” Me: “Okay” Person: “Thank you”  Person: “You’re Welcome” Me: “Awesome” Person: “Nice” Me: “👍🏼” Person: “Okay” Me: “Okay” Person: “Thank you” You get the point. 😂🤣

I'm so full of gratitude from the 100s of birthday greetings received yesterday. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Oh and thank you and you over there too. On the off chance you didn't know, gratitude is the most powerful force in the universe. You want more good things in life? Start by being grateful for what you already have. Can't think of anything? Start with being grateful you have eyes to see, ability to read, some kind of technology, and the connection to read this. Good things won't come into your life if they see you don't appreciate what you already have. Best practice: make a list in an app or in the back of a notebook that you can read and add to frequently! #gratitude

Today marks a milestone for me– my 55th birthday. And today as I'm thinking about it, I'm embracing where life has brought me. The storms I've weathered have shaped me, and I look forward to the future with optimism. Through the years, I've learned invaluable lessons: 1. Resilience is key. Every challenge has been an opportunity for growth. 2. Authenticity matters. Being true to oneself leads to genuine connections. 3. Gratitude transforms perspective. Appreciating life's small joys creates lasting happiness. 4. Continuous learning keeps us young at heart. 5. Integrity is non-negotiable. It's the foundation of trust and success in all aspects of life. These insights have profoundly impacted both my personal and professional life. I approach each day with a more positive outlook, cherishing relationships and finding fulfillment in helping others. As I step into this new year, I'm excited about the possibilities ahead. Every day brings new challenges, and in the rush, we often forget to pause and appreciate the effort we put in. Sure, as we grow older, praise may seem less important. But even as we gain more experience, it's essential not to shy away from self-recognition. After a long day—whether you’ve been handling clients, communicating with managers, or tackling endless paperwork—take a moment. As you sit on the train or close your eyes for a second, let yourself say: 'You did well today, and you deserve to rest. Thank you for getting through today.' This habit has transformed my friends’ lives, making them feel visibly happier. They've shared how much they appreciate this moment of self-gratitude. Why not give it a try? How do you remind yourself to celebrate the small wins? We're all experiencing life for the first time together, so let's remember to give ourselves a moment of gratefulness.

Today Owen and I got up at 5:30 am, got on our e-bikes and rode for 20 minutes through beautiful trails to get to a pickleball court before it gets too hot here where we live. We joyfully played for 30 minutes even though neither of us knows how to play the game. When we got back home, I hit the gym, and Owen finds me on the Peloton with a bundle of flowers!!! Today I am so grateful and thankful for Owen. What I LOVE is that ever since we started dating over 8 years go, we’ve never stopped giving each other gifts or doing small things showing appreciation. Quick Study: According to research from UCLA and Stanford, experiential gifts can strengthen relationships more than material gifts, even if the gift giver and recipient don't consume the gift together. This is because experiential gifts can evoke stronger emotions and feelings of gratitude in recipients, such as adrenaline from go-karting or relaxation from a massage. However, it's important to consider the recipient when choosing an experience gift to make sure it's appropriate and something they'll enjoy. I hope this inspires you to do something (even if it’s small) for one of your loved ones. Even if it’s holding a hug for a couple of extra seconds. It certainly inspired me 💘 Owen Cook

Practicing mindfulness can significantly enhance your focus and reduce stress. A practical tip is to start your day with intention, focusing on being present in each activity without distraction. Also, Recreational rest is just as important as a good quality sleep. Take some time this long weekend to enjoy the beauty of nature ☀️.

Signe: The most supportive supervisor I’ve ever had, always striving to understand and offer valuable resources and experience. Yen: Wise beyond your years, you are a natural leader and survivor in any situation, no matter how challenging. Zack: You wear your heart on your sleeve, showing genuine kindness and care to everyone around you. Zoe: The closest to Wonder Woman—strong, intelligent, and fearless in speaking your mind. Thank you all, and I sincerely wish you the very best in all that you do.

I express my gratitude for this platform, where numerous intellects converge to encourage, support, and enrich one another through exchanging knowledge and wisdom. I intend to address the prevalent disconnection within the workforce, acknowledging the existence of remarkable tools to bridge this gap. Whether operating from home or within an office setting, our interactions with fellow colleagues and leaders emulate familial relationships, occasionally encountering dysfunctional periods. Analogous to personal relationships and family dynamics, workplace relationships necessitate certain commonalities not merely to coexist but to thrive. In addition to grace and patience, essential components include trust, fostering a sense of safety, mutual respect, the liberty to express oneself authentically, the capacity for forgiveness, aptitude for compromise, readiness to confront difficult discussions, and a steadfast commitment to resolving issues. Moreover, fostering a desire for connection and ensuring equality in addressing wants, needs, goals, and significant decisions are imperative. It's crucial to acknowledge that professionalism need not equate to rigidity, aloofness, disinterest, or lack of empathy.
