https://lnkd.in/eVmwC4Ss Some good news about EV's. This really comprehensive report by Ayvens consultants puts the UK as 10th for EV adoption out of 47 countries. And the UK EV market is ranked as mature - only just, but it's there. After all the bad things the politicians were saying during the recent election about technology in this country that's got to be a plus. Also it rates the Total Cost of Ownership for an EV as now on a par with an ICE vehicle. Well worth a read to get a wider perspective of EV fleets around the world, including our own. #electricvehicles #fleetmanagement #decarbonisation

Are European Car Buyers Feeling Negative Energy Towards Electric Vehicles? At a time when all interested parties desperately need to see EV adoption increasing, European car buyer positivity is eroding. Escalent’s EVForward Europe study is now in its 4th year and 2024 results indicate the lowest levels of consumer confidence in EVs—with the lowest share of people thinking EVs are the future and the highest numbers of people considering EVs to be a passing fad. Confidence in EVs is even eroding among current EV owners and intenders. Almost 1 in 3 EV owners say their next car will NOT be an EV. For EV owners, driving range and charging time continue to be issues. More generally, there is recognition of modest growth in public charging infrastructure, but is it enough? The price premium continues to be an issue—among EV intenders, the tolerance of even a 5% price premium appears to be declining. So, how do we resolve or get around these problems? · To what extent would solar panels and home battery backups help EV owners and intenders? · What about EREV? EVForward Europe 2024 provides insight into the interest levels for each of these options. Ayvens recently released the latest edition of its Mobility Guide, offering a detailed country-by-country analysis of the pace of electrification. This guide evaluates 47 countries based on three levels of EV maturity: Developed, Transitioning, and Emerging. >> Western and Northern Europe lead in EV adoption, with Norway, the Netherlands, and Finland scoring highest in facilitating EV use. The number of European countries in the "Developed" category has increased to 13, reflecting broader EV adoption and a diverse range of available powertrains. >> 20 countries now offer over 100 different BEV models, including new launches like the Citroen eC3, Renault 5, and Volvo EX30. The Netherlands tops the ranking for charging infrastructure, followed by Norway and Austria. However, countries like Australia, Ireland, and Poland face challenges with their infrastructure development lagging behind EV adoption rates. >> The BEV TCO trend has reversed in some EU markets. While BEV TCO remains competitive in 13 European countries, it has increased compared to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles in others due to the end of subsidies and rising energy costs. In the UK and Austria, BEV TCO has reached parity with ICE vehicles. >> EV adoption faces hurdles such as price volatility, evolving TCO, geopolitical tensions, changing regulations, and new taxation rules. Despite these challenges, regulatory initiatives like the European Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR) are accelerating infrastructure development and EV adoption. >> The Ayvens Mobility Guide 2024 provides essential insights for fleet managers, highlighting the importance of continued investment in EV infrastructure, supportive regulations, and a diverse range of EV models. As the EV market evolves, this guide is a valuable tool for navigating the path towards sustainable mobility. Source: Ayvens #electricvehicles #electricvehicle #evcharging

As we celebrate World EV Day on September 9th, let's reflect on Europe's rapidly evolving electric vehicle landscape and the crucial role of charging infrastructure. 🚗 EV Growth and Charging Infrastructure in Europe: · Over 9 million electric vehicles on the road, including 5.1 million BEVs and 4 million PHEVs. · Nearly 1 million charging plugs across about 260,000 charging pools. ⚡ Challenges persist: · Fast Charging Gap: Only 13.5% of chargers capable of fast charging. · Uneven Distribution: 61% of the market dominated by the Netherlands, France, and Germany. · Scaling Needs: EU may require at least 8 times more charging points by 2030. 💫 Key Considerations: · Reliability and hassle-free charging are crucial for adoption. · Total cost of ownership often lower than traditional vehicles, especially in France. Our Group Director EV Charging, Stefan Meers, notes: "The industry faces challenges indicating its early stages of maturity. Successful transition requires both EVs and reliable, widespread chargers." 🔋 🌍 At Solutions30, we provide turnkey installation and maintenance services across Europe, addressing the high demand for reliable infrastructure. This World EV Day, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainable mobility, working towards a future where EVs are the norm. #Solutions30 #S30Family #WorldEVDay #SustainableMobility
