At Mercy Corps, we believe a climate resilient future is possible -- if we take bold action to support communities with proven climate adaptation solutions. One such solution is access to clean, affordable energy. It’s not just about decarbonization – it’s a cornerstone of climate adaptation. In the first of our newly launched Climate: Possible position paper series, we share five recommendations for how to not only expand energy access – but ensure energy systems are resilient, sustainable, and capable of supporting communities to adapt to our rapidly changing climate. 2moGreat work David! From my experience, the overlap between climate/sustainability and humanitarian response is a growing new space that's just starting to be understood by donors (with foundations being the most advanced). This is one of the most critical areas of work for any humanitarian entity aspiring to remain relevant in the future! Mercy Corps really leading the way here!
