For those of us in the Apple Ecosystem, last week saw the launch of iOS/iPadOS 18. While we have to wait for a while yet for Apple Intelligence, there’s plenty of new features to enjoy. My favourite so far is handwriting “improvements” in Notepad on iPad. Notepad is one of those apps that has evolved from basic MVP to fully featured giant killer over the last few years. In meetings, I much prefer to take notes with the Apple Pencil. The keyboard gives off “I’m doing email” vibes and the upright screen feels like a barrier to your colleagues and customers. But since my handwriting has devolved to chicken scratches, I appreciate the AI stepping in to help, with this cool morph animation effect. It does what it says on the tin.

Contrary to the increasingly entrenched thoughts in the industry nowadays, there is still fun to be had in architecture. My form of AR. It is only a reflection of how fast technology is moving (or how slowly I am trying to keep up) that using an iPad, Apple Pencil, iMovie, and some other iPad app..) to produce this feels rather clunky.
