There are 10 software engineer levels at Google. The majority of engineers at Google work in the lower brackets of the hierarchy. There are a lot of difficulties getting promoted beyond the level of Staff Software Engineer at Google, according to several former Google software engineers. The reason for this could be a shortage of jobs, so only the best get promoted to senior engineer or higher. The Google engineer levels are as follows:
