Our industry periodically embraces innovative procurement methods, and we wish to highlight a blueprint for preserving the Radio Industry's vitality. In lieu of a full-scale RFP, SRG SSR designed an extensive RFI to assess market responses for potential vendor and software changes. Focused on SRG's Media Enterprise, covering 17 live radio channels and 4 regional audio-on-demand platforms across 7 locations in Switzerland, this streamlined approach successfully informed their decision-making and optimized the process. After reviewing vendor responses, SRG chose to engage in bilateral negotiations with DAVID and DANEXiS for increased flexibility and cost-effectiveness. The collaboration resulted in renewed commitments and a positive agreement in line with SRG's updated strategic objectives. SRG officially communicated to all parties its decision to forgo a prolonged procurement process. It is our shared belief that this approach, when viable, contains important benefits for the industry: • Tailored RFI process enhanced value for SRG. • RFI respondents minimized costs with a streamlined approach. • SRG maintained digital transformation momentum, avoiding operational hurdles of a massive tender process. • Renewed clarity among teams empowered continuous transformative solution delivery. SRG SSR, DAVID and DANEXiS modernized their business relationship, prioritizing cost-effective, flexible technology in service to SRG's radio production and digital distribution transformation. We are available, individually, or collectively, to present this approach, its challenges, and benefits to anyone interested. #BestPractice #RadioIndustry #Procurement #ListeningInAction #SRGSSRPublicValue #DAViDSystems #DANEXiS
The process of the customized RFI and the subsequent intensive discussions and negotiations also led to a clarification of roles and responsibilities in the SRG SSR, DANEXiS and DAVID partnership. The result is a more efficient implementation of operational and strategic cooperation in the daily business.
customers learn a lot in this process and I think one should consider compensating all respondents in an RFI (or RPF) process for their efforts.

9moRFI respondents minize costs yes... But more constructively they learn about specific workflows and get new data to feed into their own SWOT analysis = they invest in a process but also get true value from it, even when they're finally not selected.
