People that aren’t charismatic chose to live in this world where everyone dictates what’s appropriate for social media, whether or not you are acting professional, and these things that they judge you for and taught you to take personal is like fake chalk creating this existential boundary. Talented leaders don’t care They want to work where they are allowed. I wish I could be like that. Lesson: Take care of your headspace. Break all of the rules

Excellent and brief discussion for the introvert like me. By changing simple yet challenging learned social habits can rapidly change the way others view you. Public education requires so many difficult conversations, and most graduate programs don’t dive deep into the topic. Great listen if you’re at the gym or on the way to work. #introvert #publiceducation #schoolpsychologist #leadership #k12

Até que ponto o ego compromete o sucesso da nossa liderança? "An inflated ego makes us susceptible to manipulation; it narrows our field of vision; and it corrupts our behavior, often causing us to act against our values. Breaking free of an overly-protective or inflated ego and avoiding the leadership bubble is an important and challenging job that requires selflessness, reflection, and courage." #leadership #liderança

When I left my role of Executive Director of a nonprofit one of my colleagues took over as the interim Director. One month in she called me and said “I seriously thought your job was a lot easier! I thought you just sat in your office waiting for me to come in with my questions. I’m calling to apologize, this is hard!” A lot of people think that the higher you get in your career the easier things become. The reality is that leadership is a different kind of role. It is not easy and it is not for everyone. For most, people skills are the hardest to execute and the most underrecognized. “Leadership is about people, and people change every day. If we believe we’ve found the universal key to leading people, we’ve just lost it. If we let our ego determine what we see, what we hear, and what we believe, we’ve let our past success damage our future success.” This article gives some great tips on staying in touch with your people and not just your ego.

It's important to remember that our true power comes from respect, influence, and integrity rather than from ego-stroking behaviors. While it may feel good to have people agree with us or laugh at our jokes, genuine connections and meaningful interactions are built on mutual respect, empathy, and understanding. It's valuable to cultivate relationships based on authenticity rather than seeking validation through ego-driven responses.

Ego is a sure recipe for disaster. To do justice in any role one should be seen as different from the role itself. Leadership is all about people. If we believe we’ve found the universal key to leading people, we’ve just lost it. If we let our ego determine what we see, what we hear, and what we believe, we’ve let our past success damage our future success Practicing attached detachment will help lead with empathy & and achieve organisation’s purpose.
