Who creates the discourse our times?
Arguably, it is inherent in the concept of indie to go under the mainstream radar. Garage bands can only be garage bands for so long before either folding or going mainstream. Scaling up and turning pro is a hard road to travel.
Gaming is everywhere around us. And as game developers go, indie developers have a size and minimal overhead to make their transient and lust-driven approach more sustainable than AAA developers money-making machines business model. They are small, but they are many. The sheer numbers of wildly varying character studios is a force to be reckoned with in forming the contemporary discourse. The talent out there to create substance with limited resources is truly mindboggling.
While we sleep, free to follow their own compass, indie game developers are creating, interpreting and manifesting important parts of the intellectual heritage of our time. In the years to come, expect dofhouse, Jacob Akpinar Olsson , Erik Engström and their global peers to create influential gaming art.

Since SGC 2024 is just around the corner, I thought I would share with you all that mine and dofhouse's new game "Project AMICA" has been nominated for SAGA this year!
It's so cool to me that our love letter to everything 90's inspired, made in an engine from 1998, was able to land this nomination!
Do try the game out during SGC and give us your thoughts! :)
Also, here's a new trailer!!

Judgment ⚖ - Western Cape High Court - application for leave to appeal – test for leave to appeal – firstly, reasonable prospects of success – secondly, where the court comes to the conclusion that there is some other compelling reason why the appeal should be heard.
“…The conclusion is that the appeal does not bear prospects of success is significantly strengthened when one considers that the determination of a just and equitable remedy is a discretion in the true sense and an appellate court may not interfere unless it is clear that the choice the court has preferred is at odds with the law.”

Another wonderful day at NBCC!
Today, I felt the great teamwork in our group. Thanks to Rene Holmes for skillfully structuring the class and teaching us so much in such a short time! I'm thrilled because many more exciting days await us!
🥁 2 days post Businessplan-Wettbewerb Berlin-Brandenburg (BPW) 🥁
Let's get it out of the way: We did not win, sorry, fans! Thanks for all the support though, especially everyone who came to the event just for Henrietta! You guys are just ❤️
Congrats to the winners of both the main prize and the audience prize (I honestly don't think anyone could have competed with that winning pitch, so chapeau!).
The good news for me and Henrietta though: We ranked 6th in total! Out of more than 150 entries 🤯 I tend to sweep accomplishments like this under the rug but I think it is time to take a step back and look at this result as it is. This was my first business plan I ever wrote. It is a strange feeling to publicly say that I am proud of something I achieved but I am. Is this a female thing?
And of course it wouldn't be a proper LinkedIn Post without the key learnings, so I also have one for you:
A business plan is hard work but once I had it, it made so much sense to do it. Sounds like a no brainer but sometimes we need to say the most obvious things or even write them down - like you have to with your business idea in a business plan. Many of the things I wrote down felt like "d'uh" moments because it was all in my head, not really cohesive but it was there. Consequently, it was really important to see them all written down in a structured form. It made me feel much safer with my idea and the execution. Also, I was able to incorporate so many bits and pieces that came to me which led to a well rounded strategy.
So I will definitely continue with the plan for the next phase in may and incorporate the feedback I was given. Can't wait to learn more about how to best work on Henrietta!

As Operations Manager, I may not get to drive often, but I'm always thrilled to hear positive feedback about my team’s dedication to going above and beyond. Collaborative efforts make all the difference, and working with V1P Fife is an absolute pleasure. A special shoutout to BRAVEHOUND: the service user I supported yesterday is reintegrating back into their local community thanks to their assistance dog and the support of V1P Fife.

As a new financial aid administrator, attending the MASFAA Just The Facts! trainings have been incredibly helpful in understanding the everchanging terrain of financial aid in higher education.
George Glaze and I had the opportunity to work with this year’s cohort of MASFAA’s Just the Facts program. What an amazing group they are! They asked great questions and were incredibly engaged. Looking forward to seeing this group at future MASFAA events!
Thank you to Bentley University and the Bentley Financial Aid staff for hosting us! Thank you to MASFAA’s PD&T Committee for providing this great program each year!
