Temporal Technologies offers a durable execution system that helps developers build scalable applications and manage long-term workflows without sacrificing productivity or reliability. As the company’s cloud offering grew, they realized they needed an observability system that could handle massive datasets and deliver real-time insights without driving up costs. At a recent meetup in Seattle, engineer Sean Gillespie outlined the system they built, powered by ClickHouse , diving deep on distributed tables, schema optimization, and write-read aggregation. Sean also shared some big wins: ⚡ Their ingestion system now processes up to 150,000 rows per second, allowing for real-time handling of telemetry data 🏎️ Queries to write-aggregated tables return results in under 200 milliseconds, ensuring dashboards load with minimal delay 🗜️ Their largest table achieves a 36.59x data compression ratio, significantly reducing storage costs Want to learn more about how Temporal is using ClickHouse to supercharge their observability?
