Our 'Quick Guide to Smart Objects' is out now, and it's the biggest, most detailed one we've released so far! It's packed full of genuine value that will help you harness the power of Smart Objects in your workflow. So whether you're a designer, social producer or even just a hobbyist, our Quick Guides aim to talk you through simple things you can do in Photoshop to take your graphics to the next level. The 'Quick Guide to Smart Objects' covers what they are, how you use them and the benefits of building them into your work flow. I can guarantee they'll save you hours in the long run and they're so easy to create. Grab your copy here, for free: https://lnkd.in/eMu57VtD We write our Quick Guides with two things in mind. 1. To ensure they really are quick to read. We know everyone is busy so you don't want a 100 page dossier that goes to a level of detail that's just impractical. Our guides are short, snappy and to the point. 2. They're written in plain english, no jargon and the tone of voice is conversational. You don't need any prior Photoshop knowledge to use them. They're aimed at those who haven't got a background in design, but that doesn't mean the tips aren't powerful! So why are they behind a membership wall? Well, simply put, we want to create a community within the social media world. We want to see who is finding these guides helpful and get feedback from those using the guides to see what else they want help with. All we ask is that you sign up with an email address. There's no fee, no need to give us any extra details, just a name and email and we'll simply get in touch to let you know when we add more freebies. Our primary goal is to share our 15+ years in the industry with those looking for practical help. We know job requirements are growing ever wider and those working in social are expected to have at least a good grasp of Photoshop, so we're here to help. We've worked with so many producers in social media who ask us if we have a spare 2 mins to fix a PSD for them or show them how something's done, so we've taken those conversations and put them into PDF format. We know video is popular, but in our opinion, having a library of PDF's at your finger tips allows you to quickly flick through to the bit you need without scrolling back and forth through a video to get to the good bit. You can also work through our guides at your own pace, so whether your a Photoshop novice or a seasoned pro, you'll find value in the tips and techniques that we share. So if you find our guides helpful, please spread the work. Send a link to your colleague, message your friends in the industry and send them our way. Together, we can elevate social graphics and make people's lives easier, all in one go! #quickguide #tips #tutorials #photoshop #playbook

Why I Start All My Web Projects with Photoshop: Insights from Customer Conversations In fact, in the course of today's conversation with a client, I got reminded of the way Photoshop plays a very central role in our process of web development. And one question, more than any other, tends to rear its ugly head from time to time: "Why Photoshop first? Why not jump straight into the code?" Here is basically what I shared: Clear Vision: The visual blueprint of the project is very well prepared in Photoshop. It sets the right expectations but acts as a guiding light for the complete development journey. Unleash Creativity: With Photoshop, users can really bend the limits of their imagination and never be limited by any code restriction. Free rein to explore and perfect the design your brand and vision deserve. Efficiency and precision: This brilliant Photoshop design streamlines the development process. Developers are provided with a clear guideline, hence less back-and-forth in ensuring that they work with an accurate model to be translated into code. Excellence optimized: make every pixel perfect. Photoshop will enable the website owner to optimize images for the web, so in any device, their site will always look flawless with fast loading times. Collaboration at its best—this method encourages better communication with the design and development teams to make sure each and every bit of your website is actually planned and executed to the 'T'. We always strive, whether the objective or not, to provide a website but an uninterrupted experience that becomes noticeable within the digital landscape. We start with Photoshop not to ensure we code your site but, opposite that, craft a digital masterpiece that perfectly catches your brand. I know we have some Figma trends now, but for me, it's Photoshop first. Join us on this creative journey. Your vision. Our design and development savvy, Photoshop's boundless possibilities. #WebDevelopment #Photoshop #DesignThinking #UserExperience #DigitalInnovation

4 things we use daily to speed up our workflow: 1. Creating our own Smart Object keyboard shortcuts We make layers into Smart Objects a lot! Whether its turning photos into Smart Objects to allow us to add Camera Raw effects or grabbing a bunch of crests to make a master Smart Object, we noticed we were doing it all the time. It only takes a few seconds to Ctrl + Click on the layer > Convert to Smart Object, but when you're going through that process multiple times per day, it really adds up. A quick Google will show you how to create your own bespoke keyboard shortcuts, and it's become second nature now for us to just hit "Ctrl + Cmd + S" to instantly turn any layer into a Smart Object. We also made one for "New Smart Object via copy" which allows us to create a duplicate Smart Object, that's not linked to the original (so changes only affect the copy, not both versions). It's worth paying attention to the repetative tasks you do daily and seeing which ones you can turn into shortcuts. 2. Remove BG We know there are many ways to remove backgrounds on photos, but we're yet to find anything as accurate as Remove BG. It also has the added bonus of allowing us to batch process multiple files at once. Its 45p per cutout, but when you get 10 cutout in 1 minute, compared to doing it by hand and it taking an hour, you'll earn that £4.50 back easily. 3. Duplicate Layers across Documents When working on sports like UFC/Boxing, we tend to use the same background across all designs to give the work a consistent brand look. In the old days, we used to grab the background elements and drag and drop them over to a new document, then re-position them to make sure it was consistent between graphics. But then we discovered "Duplicate Layers"! Simply Ctrl + Click on the desired layers or folder, choose 'Duplicate Layer' and select the destination. It can be a brand new doc, an existing one you have open or even just another canvas in the same artboard. It's been a game changer for us when working on large scale social campaigns with multiple designs that follow the same visual theme. 4. Photoshop script for organising layers alphabetically We recently added the Photoshop script for this in our free Members area ( https://lnkd.in/eMu57VtD ) and it's been great to see how useful it's been to so many others. In one click, you can make all layers organise themselves alphabetically, which we use a lot when creating a Smart Object full of crests for example. It's quicker and easier to find the layers you want to switch on/off when you know where you're looking! --- These simple ideas are hardly revolutionary but adopting these shortcuts really adds up over time. James Barnard gave an Adobe Max talk ( https://lnkd.in/e-BfgCzG ) on how he speeds up his workflow in Illustrator and it follows this same logic so it's worth a watch. --- So what time saving shortcuts would you recommend? All suggestions are welcome!

New ongoing series called "Just Asking!" Today I'm "Just Telling!" It's not meant to offend anyone, just to evoke polite conversation on subjects that are prevalent in my life today and things related to graphic design and art. You have to do a whole series of posts in various social platforms. Yes, you could use Canva or AE, but my favorite tool is Photoshop. First, the sizes were not selectable in the new document menu. You could input them as you create and save them in the "Saved" tab, but that would be a task. Got me to looking for an addon or plugin. What did I find, but Social Media Toolkit by Thomas Zagler. This plugin has saved me a lot of time, and I think it could help you. The free version is great, and there is a paid Pro version with more features. The one cool feature in the paid version is opening multiple sizes as artboards in one document. Give it a try and let me know your thoughts on this plugin and does it help? https://lnkd.in/g4ZttUXC #photoshop #plugins #socialmedia #adobe #toolkit #awesome

I ❤️ Canva! What an amazing tool for such a great price. The free version is next-level on it's own. Today I am building a temporary website as a place holder until I can fully deck out a WordPress site with integrations. What I love most about Canva's websites are that you can pump out unlimited hosted URL's without ever leaving the site on both the free and paid version. You can then shorten the link on bitly.com. I think they Legacy thinking of anything but custom domain names is becoming quickly outdated. For your main site and email marketing, a custom domain is a must. For links that come and go and that get connected to via a signup button, in particular, a free hosting and registrar like Canva makes sense. 🎈 🎈 🎈 🎈 🎈 I've been working on Canva for so long that I can pump out graphics in no time flat now and as you can see by the certificate I just hit a thousand designs! My favorite source for how-to videos of Canva is typically Design with Canva on YouTube. I'll watch and re-watch their videos until I can perform the tasks without looking up my next moves. But just like with all of tech and coding there are always little hidden gems to learn and they're always rolling out new features and changing the UI (User Interface). I love Canva's Brand Story of how one person's vision and a team's verve to create free and low-cost alternatives to expensive graphic design changed an industry. I certainly cannot imagine my business without Canva. I am forever grateful for it. ❤️ What is your favorite way to use Canva for your business? #RoseKellerAndCo #ShineOnline #ContentMarketing #GraphicDesign
