Harrison Butker’s graduation speech was insane, and then I saw what 50+ HS senior girls wrote for their 10 year goals and 🤯 What I read👇🏻 I was flipping through a class of 2024 yearbook and I swear it could have been the class of 1954. 80%+ of the graduating senior girls’ 10 year goals consisted only of having a successful, wealthy husband with no mention of their own life and career goals. I hope my daughter dreams for more at her HS graduation. Here are 2 key lessons I’m teaching my 4 year old her before she graduates high school 1️⃣ Dream big dreams You never know what is possible until you try. There will be opportunities that no one can even dream of now. There are ways to create your dream life, you just have to go after it. 2️⃣ Learn to stand on your own, first. Invest in yourself. Do well in school, get the degrees, make your own money, start the company, go after the big lofty job title. Make yourself proud, first. Then, if you want a partner, you find someone that adds to your big life. When my daughter graduates in 12 years, I hope her goals are big and audacious I’m pushing her to invest in her dreams early So she has every opportunity she wants And then, she can make whatever choice makes her happiest Instead of wondering what if.
