Gartner surveyed over 479+ Chief Data & Analytics Officers in their CDAO Agenda Survey 2024. Data revealed one very important statistic 👇 65% of D&A leaders will implement data observability as a core element of their data strategy over the next two years. Why? 1. The D&A operating model has to evolve to support innovation CDAOs are uniquely tasked with enabling AI due to their oversight of D&A strategy, governance, and infrastructure. They need tools to evolve their operating model and keep the quality and reliability of data high to prepare for AI. ➡️ Static data monitoring and quality testing is no longer sufficient to ensure the level of reliability needed to deliver on AI. 2. CDAOs need to defend the funding model for D&A initiatives to CFOs Establishing business outcome-driven metrics that allow stakeholders to track D&A value is becoming crucial to justify their contribution to the organization, especially in a budget-constrained context. ➡️ Data value can only be unlocked and business outcomes achieved if everyone - from data teams to business teams - has clarity and full oversight into data infrastructure and assets. The bottom line: Data Observability is the *only* tool that can help provide this clarity.
