No doubt there is still room for flagship store in untapped market but Uniqlo is reaching a saturation point and needs to focus on its comp/same store year on year growth to be sustainable. Today, many of us who own a Uniqlo item tend to have a preference to stick to shopping for a product category and seldom venture into other categories (I.e: challenges in cross selling). Uniqlo has great quality and is comparatively affordable but there is only so many colors you can purchase of an item and the frequency of which you would do so. Flagship stores can only consume profits from other money making outlet if they are not self sustainable thus downplaying the true potential of the brand. https://lnkd.in/dW83WUKr

Venturing to China is not an easy path. In fact, international ventures are increasingly challenging these days, with the possible exception of Singapore, where we welcome you with open arms. Due to the rise in nationalism, whether you are heading to the EU, US, UK, China, or Japan, the local market is not going to welcome you with open arms.

As Uniqlo announces its ambitious expansion plan with 11 new stores set to open this year in California and Texas, it's a clear indication that the retail landscape is not just evolving, but thriving. This strategic move not only underscores the brand's confidence in the physical retail sector but also highlights the importance of geographic diversity in today's market. It's thought-provoking to see how Uniqlo's expansion could set a precedent for other retailers, possibly reigniting a wave of brick-and-mortar investments amidst the digital age. This development prompts us to consider the future of retail in a post-pandemic world, where the physical and digital realms increasingly intersect. How will other retailers respond to this bold step, and what does this mean for the future of shopping in America? #CommercialRealEstate #RetailRealEstate #retail #retailbusiness
