For this Holiday Season, ‘Perfect’ Is Overrated—Let’s Embrace ‘Good Enough’ Instead Hello, busy professionals, caregivers, and multitasking heroes juggling a million things this holiday season. 💜 It’s Salima here, with our Mental Beauty Monday reminder: Embrace the beauty of “good enough.” Let’s take a moment to breathe. 💜 The holidays often come with a lot of pressure—planning the perfect family gathering, finding the perfect gifts, or even making your home look Pinterest-worthy. But here’s the thing: chasing perfection can rob the season of its joy. What if we decided that “good enough” is actually... good enough? ✅Store-bought cookies instead of homemade? Done. ✅A cozy, minimalist holiday setup instead of decking every hall? Beautiful. ✅A night off to recharge instead of taking on another commitment? Absolutely. When we let go of perfection, we create space for what truly matters: connection, joy, and a little holiday magic. 👉 Here’s your challenge: What’s one area where you’ll choose “good enough” this holiday season? For me, it’s paring down on how many appetizers I bring to my family gatherings (trust me, it’s usually a trunkful!) —keeping it simple and meaningful. Drop your “good enough” choices in the comments, and let’s celebrate the beauty of imperfection together. P.S. Need more tips for a balanced start to 2025? The holiday season is usually spent with family and friends. However, not every family experience is positive, or not everyone positively experiences their family. The holidays can be a time that brings closeness between you and your loved ones. The holidays can also significantly impact your emotional, physical, and mental well-being. If you happen to be in one of these situations, here are some tips to get through not-so-ideal family get-togethers. 1. PREPARE. It can be easy to avoid social events due to fear, anxiety, dread, etc. Instead of avoiding or possibly setting yourself up for disappointment, identify 2-3 traits you appreciate that will help you tolerate the experience. 2. BE AWARE. Be aware of the kind of time you are willing to spend with others. Think about the best way to engage with your loved ones, whether that is one-on-one or in a group. 3. SET BOUNDARIES. During the holiday season, your time can be spread thin. Take the time to identify what your boundaries are within your relationships. This might be only committing to several social events or having a budget. 4. HAVE REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS. No holiday or person is perfect. We can dream of having a picture-perfect holiday, which may lead to disappointment if things do not go your way. Let go of things one way and enjoy the time with your friends and family. 5. MAKE TIME TO CONNECT. Set time to connect with those who are a positive source of connection in your life. Maybe a specific family member you relate to, or a friend, therapist, etc., you can trust. 6. SELF-CARE. Take a little time each day for yourself. Practice self-care around holiday interactions, if needed, before and after as social gatherings can be draining mentally, emotionally, and physically. #Holidays #MentalHealth #Relationships #ModernMePsychology

🎄✨ Holiday Self-Care: Balancing Joy with Well-being 🎄✨ As we dive into the holiday season, we must keep our mental well-being in sharp focus. This period we are often overwhelmed with expectations—hosting, gifting, and a relentless push to spread cheer. Yet, it's vital to remember that maintaining your inner peace is crucial and should not be overshadowed by the pursuit of making others happy. This holiday, I encourage you to empower yourself with clear boundaries. Saying no or stepping back when you feel overwhelmed is not just acceptable, it's liberating. Opt for activities that rejuvenate your spirit—a tranquil evening with a book or a rejuvenating walk in nature—and graciously decline those that might sap your energy. By doing so, you will feel more in control and empowered, enhancing your overall well-being. Remember, prioritizing your mental health is not just important; it's the key to truly enjoying the spirit of the season. By taking care of yourself, you can savor the joy and warmth of the holidays even more. Let's redefine this holiday season not by how much we do for others but by how well we care for ourselves. Our capacity for genuine generosity and joy expands naturally when we are at our best. This year, let's shift our focus to what truly signifies festive: placing our well-being at the top of our holiday agenda. Let this be an inspiration to make a positive change in how we approach the holidays. #HolidaySelfCare #MentalWellbeing #Leadership #WorkLifeBalance #LifeCoachFourways #PositiveLane

My end of the year Health Tips: As we gear up for the holidays, we know this season often brings more than just festive cheer—it also brings elevated stress. Between shopping, events, family obligations, and year-end tasks, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But here’s the thing: elevated stress levels aren’t just an inevitable part of life that we have to accept. In fact, maintaining high levels of stress for too long is unhealthy and takes a serious toll on our physical and mental well-being. This time of year it’s extra important to be mindful of our stress levels and do what we can to manage them more effectively. Please take care of yourself and enjoy your holiday season with family and friends!! htpps://phyllisketchum

The Holiday Season and Mental Health: A Problem We Don’t Talk About Every holiday season, I see people fall into what I call "holiday season panic". These are hardworking professionals or business owners who feel lonely or stressed as the year winds down. Work slows, clients and colleagues take time off, and suddenly, it feels like there’s no one around to help move things forward. For some, this happens after a tough year or just a slow few weeks, making them feel stuck. I’ve been there too. Years ago, I had a new job and wanted to prove myself, but as the holidays approached, everything stopped. Everyone I needed to work with was out of the office, and it felt like I was falling behind with no way to catch up. This can feel heavy. You start explaining to yourself - and maybe even to your boss or family - why things aren’t happening. But here’s the truth: no one else is thinking this way. It’s a pressure we put on ourselves. You might get email replies like, “I’ll be back after the new year” or “I’m on vacation.” That can make it seem like the whole world has hit pause - except for you. But here’s what I want to say: It’s OK to pause, too! Take a breath. Rest. The holidays aren’t the time to push yourself when the world around you is slowing down. There’s nothing wrong with stepping back. Here are three simple ways to shift your mindset: 1️⃣ Accept the slowdown: Things don’t move fast during the holidays - it’s not your fault! 2️⃣ Look for the good: Think about three things you can enjoy during this time: family, festivities, or even some extra time for yourself. 3️⃣ Remember, resting is productive: Recharge your energy so you can come back stronger after the holidays. If something didn’t happen earlier this year, it’s unlikely to happen now. That’s OK. Use this time to relax, reflect, and enjoy the season. You’ll return to work refreshed and ready. So, let go of the pressure to keep pushing when the world isn’t. Enjoy the holidays, focus on what matters, and trust that the new year will bring new opportunities. 🌟 Wishing you a happy and restful holiday season! 🌟 #HolidaySeason #thanksgiving #Depression #WorkLifeBalance #psychology #StressManagement #ProfessionalStruggles #WorkplaceWellness #TakingABreak #SelfCareTips #Pressure #stress #hope #realestate #moving #realoestate #holidays #empower Adam Shapiro Brian Phillips, CRS,CIPS,C2EX,AHWD,NYRS,ABR,SRS,SFR,CNE, Eric Barron Jill Biggs Linda Caminiti Dottie Herman Bess Freedman Amir Korangy Ryan Serhant
