Hello, mental beauty warriors! 💜 Salima here, and today, I’m sharing a few pics of what November looked like for me. From revitalizing water class to moments of pure stillness, November was all about nurturing my mind, body, and spirit. But let me keep it real: The 1ST photo? That was me feeling under the weather. 😷 Yet, even in that moment, I chose to show up for myself with rest, deep breathing, and a little extra self-compassion. Here’s what I learned: Whether you’re an ambitious corporate climber or a helping professional, we must prioritize ourselves the way we prioritize our goals and the people we serve. Self-care isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. 📸 Swipe through these snapshots to see my fave photos from last month. Did you see the last photo? Yeah I know it looks nothing like Canada and definitely isn’t somewhere I went to in November BUT Bali is on my list of magical places to enjoy some selfish self-care. What’s your magical place you want to experience some self-care one day? Drop it in the comments and let’s help each other manifest our dream spot to reality! Now, for more about my journey last month to show up for myself, especially when through some unforeseen health challenges, with rest, deep breathing, and a little extra self-compassion check out my December 8th blog post! >> //daretoheal.co/blog 💜 P.S. #mentalhealth is often discussed in terms of visible symptoms and known treatments, but there are aspects of the journey that many don't talk about. Today, I’d like to share an experience that’s shaped my understanding of mental health in a profound yet subtle way. It was during the quiet moments—those instances when I was alone with my thoughts—that I truly began to understand the complexity of #mentalwellbeing. Here’s what I discovered: #ThePowerofSilence: In our noisy world, silence can be unsettling. Yet, it was in the silent moments that I found clarity. Sitting in quiet contemplation allowed me to listen to my inner voice and understand my deepest anxieties and fears. It was like peeling back layers to reveal the true state of my mental health. #TheSubtleSigns: Mental health issues don't always manifest in obvious ways. For me, it was the constant feeling of being #overwhelmed, the subtle dread on Sunday evenings, and the occasional sense of detachment from my surroundings. These were signs that something was amiss, even though everything appeared fine on the surface. #TheHealingPowerofNature: Taking solitary walks in nature became my sanctuary. The gentle rustling of leaves, the distant chirping of birds, and the calming flow of a stream had a therapeutic effect that no medication could match. #Nature has a way of grounding us, reminding us of the simplicity and beauty of life. #RediscoveringJoyinSmallThings: I realized that joy isn't always found in grand achievements or big events. It’s in the small, often overlooked moments—savoring a cup of coffee, watching a sunset, or losing myself in a good book. These little pockets of joy became my anchors, pulling me back to a place of #mentalbalance. #MindfulBreathing: One of the most transformative practices I discovered was mindful breathing. It’s incredible how something as simple as focusing on each breath can bring an overwhelming sense of calm and clarity. This practice became my go-to during stressful moments, helping me center myself and regain control. #TheImportanceofSelfCompassion: Perhaps the most significant lesson was learning to be kind to myself. It’s easy to be our own harshest critic, but self-compassion taught me to treat myself with the same #kindness and #understanding that I offer to others. This shift in mindset was pivotal in my mental health journey. Mental health is deeply personal and often, it's the quiet, unspoken experiences that shape us the most. By sharing these moments, I hope to shed light on the subtle yet profound aspects of mental health that often go unnoticed. Have you experienced similar moments that have shaped your mental health journey? Let’s share and learn from each other in this safe space. #MentalHealth #SelfDiscovery #Mindfulness #NatureHealing #SelfCompassion #QuietMoments

Time to check-in with you… 💭 How are you feeling? Really? Feel beyond that polite and corporate-tea-room-colleague-small-talk “fine” and enquire what feelings are really coming up for you today. Notice where they come up in the body, and if they don’t, self-enquire perhaps where they have gone. Just so you know, it’s okay if things haven’t been okay recently. You are allowed to be ‘yourself’ with yourself here. 💭 When was the last time you took a big, deep breath? I’m talking about those breaths that have been holding onto your feelings in your chest. Breathing out activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which slows down our heart rates and relaxes our muscles. Pause for a moment. Breathe. 💭 What feels safe and how can you create a safe environment? A safe space is crucial for self-healing, as in these spaces, you can show up as ‘you’ and process your thoughts and emotions freely. Cultivate an environment that provides you this security. This can be a physical location, like a cosy corner of your home or that shaded spot outside the office, or even a mental state achieved through mindfulness and self-compassion. A therapist tip - keep in mind how to activate the 5 senses in these spaces, as these support grounding! 💭 Those thoughts, those people, those things that feel heavy and that are zapping your energy… let them go ❄️🎶 Release those burdens that are holding you back and make room for growth and positivity. ‘Letting go’ is about removing anything that hinders your progress. This can be toxic relationships (work or personal), outdated beliefs, or clutter that causes stress. By releasing these negative influences, you make space for new opportunities and positive energy to enter your life. It’s a liberating process that allows you to focus on what truly matters and supports your journey towards self-healing. What else are you checking in on today? Share below! 💜 If you’re wondering what therapy is like with a compassionate and caring therapist (ahem, with me!) get in touch. As we embark on #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, it's essential to shine a light on emotions that often lurk in the shadows, waiting to be acknowledged and transformed. Today, I want to talk about envy and its transformative potential into inspiration. ENVY, is a low vibrational emotion we feel when we see someone else achieving what we desire for ourselves. It is like saying - "When I see someone else with something I want, I feel resentful, because I don't believe that I can have it for myself". INSPIRATION is a high vibrational feeling that stems from an #abundance #mindset. It is like Seeing something that you desire and telling the universe - "I believe there is enough for everyone and I believe that I can have it too". Social Media is one of the industry that is literally driven by envy; it actively encourages us to compare ourselves to others so that we buy what others have, do what others are doing, irrespective of being mindful, whether we want that or not. How often do you come off social media feeling just a little bit worse about yourself and your life than you did before you went on? My advice? Turn your envy into inspiration. Whenever we experience envy, we have an opportunity to reframe our thinking and choose an inspired perspective that will push us closer to our dreams. 💡 Envious thought - This is something that they have and I can't have. 💡Inspired thought - This is something that they have and that I would like for myself too. Remember to Make consistent choice to to turn your envy into inspiration! Monitor and manage your social media usage. Follow people who inspire and motivate you. Engage with experts you can learn from. Create genuine, positive relationships. Just STOP mindless scrolling, complaining, hating and engaging in negativity and bitterness. Together, let's make this Mental Health Awareness Month a time for self-reflection, growth, and compassion. Let's also remember to celebrate self-care and well-being. From mindfulness practices to moments of joy, prioritizing mental health is a gift we give ourselves and those around us. What do you do when envy creeps in? Share your tips for turning envy into inspiration in the comments below! Let's support each other on our journey towards positivity. #MentalHealthAwareness #EnvyToInspiration #SelfReflection #PersonalGrowth #WorkplaceWellness #Wellbeing #MentalHealth ---------------------------------- 👉🏼 Ready to level up your game? Do you feel overwhelmed by the constant barrage of stimuli, responsibilities, and expectations? Even those who don’t have anxiety find themselves treading water with the expectations of society. When you feel anxious, these daily stressors can exacerbate feelings of unease, worry, and tension, making it challenging to find moments of peace amidst the chaos. For centuries, poets, philosophers, and healers alike have soaked up the restorative benefits of nature. Whether it's a leisurely stroll through a forest, a quiet moment by the ocean, or simply basking in the warmth of the sun, nature has a unique ability to soothe the mind, calm the body, and restore a sense of equilibrium. https://lnkd.in/eivZn7bb #anxiety #depression #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #selfcare #love #mentalhealthmatters #stress #selflove #ptsd #mentalillness #therapy #healing #health #wellness #mindfulness #anxietyrelief #motivation #recovery #trauma #life #psychology #sad #meditation #anxietyawareness #pain #loveyourself

Have you ever found yourself sacrificing your well-being for a job that's draining your soul? Many of us get caught up in toxic work environments, where we start giving up personal time.
